To be fair they also have a guy in the studio who strongly objects to his stuff.
They hired a black guy to do that so all the racists will just disregard everything he says and lean even harder into the dogwhistling.

It's fecking mental stuff. I can understand how someone who chooses to watch this shit for hours on end winds up voting for Trump.

I work with someone who seems to love Trump (a Brit) and is still clinging to these lawsuits to save it for Trump. I think he's done and the GOP know it.
It's baffling how the cult of Trump has reached Europe. I've got one of these nutters at work as well. They completely buy into it. I've learned to stay away from political conversations with that one, it's tear your hair out stuff.

As someone who isn't very religious, but prays and does have some faith, people like this, and generally all these American Evangelicals on the whole, genuinely make me embarrassed to share some of the same faith with them.

Many of them are heavily into public "virtue signalling" - and they think that the more they raise their hands to the sky and the more loudly and often they proclaim 'hallejuah', 'praise the Lord' and the like, the more virtuous they are.

If Jesus called round for tea and biscuits he'd get the door slammed in his face by them for being a pacifist, liberal 'do-gooder'. The depth of their hypocrisy, bad faith, shallowness and delusion knows no bounds.

This is a great summary of the stuff received from GA so far (today) and what was expected. Most left is heavily Dem still, and even the heavily GOP areas, Biden's been running about even.

This is probably a really silly question but why do news networks have so much discrepancy of opinions here? Surely the numbers are the numbers, so they must all come to the same conclusions? And why are we looking to them to make decisions anyway?!

They usually employ a staff of election / pollster types who closely track numbers in the individual states and based on their internal data, make assessments and recommendations about whether or not their outlet should commit to "calling" a state. The variances between networks is because they use different methodologies to interpret the numbers.

Fox also famously called Ohio for Obama in 2012, which caused a meltdown among one of the pundits (Karl Rove) and compelled Megyn Kelly to actually take the cameras back to the room where the decision was made to give the audience some insight.

And why are we looking to them to make decisions anyway?!

We don't have a national government system who make a big announcement about who won the election, so the TV networks are generally the only way for most people who watch these things on TV to know who won. This has over time created a sort of arms race among the various networks to get the information out as soon as possible, so as to not look like they are lagging behind competing networks.

If those 60,000 didn't vote for Kanye they might've picked the next joke candidate, Trump.

It's a good thing, in a weird way.

Ok so, going to bed again, surely this time when I wake up it will be fecking done??

Right wing solidarity

Tbf there's at least 40% of the UK that are complete fecking idiots when elections come around as well. Anywhere where the media and election methods are as fecked as they are in the US and UK is bound to vote for complete smegheads most of the time.
