Probably split but usually does favor a Republican. Many senior leaders I've spoken to off the record, or been around when the topic has been broached, either outright detested this clown or remained diplomatic when discussing. I'm sure there are some that align with this clown - there is a good number of nitwits and fecktards within the military ranks, no different than other walks of life. I've not yet met a single uniformed black man or woman that liked this guy. It's basically mostly whites with a sprinkling of Hispanics and Asians that support this guy. And I'd imagine each branch differs in percentages of support.

The traditional splits are that support goes from more R to more D: Marines > Army > Air Force = Navy. And then that in all branches the officers are less R leaning than the enlisted. But then we get to the fact that the biggest branch in terms of personnel is the Army, and in all branches there are more enlisted than officers. So overall mostly R.
I think Trump has actually caused a slide in support in all ranks per the polls I think the Military Times does. But I think in aggregate it still leans slightly R. Even it a more superficial level, the military is both more white and especially more male than the total population. That in itself also indicates a lean to R.
