The second one, we never had a chance in the first one. Funny thing that got me was we just went and got the Commonwealths after that, but even though we were the only contenders it still had to go to a vote. Anyway city calling the monument to one of Manchesters greatest failings home, seems quite appropriate if you ask me.

The 2014 Winter Olympic games are taking place in Vancouver. But yes, I agree that two consecutive summer Olympic games on the same continent (especially a continent which has hosted more than any other) would be a bit much. But there's already been one major surprise today, so who knows.
