I don't mind teaming up.
I'm good with the draft being on either Aug 23 or Sept 6. Aug 16 seems too early and United has a game on Aug 30.
I'll go solo again this year, can't have any meddling in team affairs

Yeah, you'll be able to rank the players in your auto-draft however you'd like.
What if someone selects those players?
It'll automatically go to the next person in your rankings.
That makes sense.
Never used nfl.com for fantasy football myself, but looks like if you click on the "My Team" heading up top and then "Pre-Draft Rankings" underneath that you'll be able to set your own rankings. If you don't do so, it's not a big deal as the computer will just pick for you using the default rankings.

Just sorted it, for some reason it seems the mobile site was missing a bunch of options. Went to the full site and got it done.
