2012 World Snooker Championships

Hendry with a 147 in the first round.

Playing very well.

Incredible stuff from Hendry! Rolling back the years. In keeping with his form in the last 5 years or so though, he'll probably get thumped in the next round (should he close this match out of course).

Was going to make this thread actually. Good to see that others are interested as well then!

Anyway, I'm not sure who will win. I don't see Higgins winning it, while I don't see Trump winning it either as he's the obvious choice for it!

I could maybe see Selby doing it this year.

I used to love the snooker. I mean really love watching it, but not so much anymore. Te characters aren't the same, and I dunno, I just find it hard to watch a marathon 4 hour session.

I think it's been improving though. They're taking steps to make it a lot more exciting, and I think it has been working to an extent.

Trump is one to watch of course. If it's a character you want at the table, then he's the perfect player for that sort of thing.

True, though obviously that has little meaning when it comes to the World Championships, which retain the traditional, very long matches. I like it anyway, those are always cracking two weeks in April. Just turn on the TV whenever you've got the time and you'll have a snooker match going on.

Haven't a clue who will win it. Would love to see Trump to it but as Cheesy said, many expect him to so he won't. Could be another good run for Robertson.

Sean Maguire and Mark Allen have a good chance of winning it.

Don't think Judd will handle the pressure well, he's only won the UK championship this season?

I actually think he's very good at handling pressure, but for some reason I just don't see him winning it. Too obvious a choice for me. In snooker we rarely see the favourite simply walking to it as expected. It's too open for that.

He'll win it eventually though. He's too talented not to. If he keeps his feet on the ground though, he'll be winning at least four or five over his career in my opinion.

Don't really like the lad too much but he's not been winning much this season I think. Got to to the semi's of the masters?

I'd place my tip on Maguire, Allen, or maybe Ebdon seeing he could frustrate Ronnie in the first round.

There isn't really favourites in snooker any more. O Sullivan used to be bang on evens at most events a few years ago. The bookies layered that bet to perfection.

I was looking at the young belgian Luca Brecel this morning,he's only 17.

Looks like we will be hearing his name alot in the future, he is shit hot.
Once he grows up a bit and starts to get experience under his belt he will be something else.
He's on bbc 2 now

:lol: He got knocked out. That was from a tipster. He has Maguire, Allen and maybe Ebdon considering he could frustrate Ronnie and his odds will drop from 66/1 to 14/1. Steven Lee to make the semi's.

Stephen Lee manages to get larger year by year,

Impressive.

He's genuinely disgusting isn't he. Chuffed to bits to see Murhpy out the fat, arrogant holier than thou prick.

It'd be nice to see Trump win it, failing that Ronnie or Maghire who I've always liked as a player. Still think of him as being young for some reason despite the fact he's 6 years older than me at 31. Suppose I remember him as a 19 year old when I was playing as a nipper.

Beat Hendry's record as youngest player ever on a world championship. Have only seen the first day of his match and you could see he was a bit nervous. Should have been a bit more patient/calculated at times. But that's experience I guess, he'll learn a lot from these kind of experiences.

Liu looks like Hendry has been put into an Asianify iPhone app. If they had one, which they don't, because it's lacist.

I'm starting to go off Trump. Yes he's an entertaining player, but the number of times he just smashes balls about and one happens to drop in is ridiculous. There's no skill whatsoever involved in it. I think I'll lay my bet on him when he goes through, put my money elsewhere.

I just spotted this dirty bastard on the BBC coverage about 10 min ago!

Casillas would be proud!

Brilliant from Hendry to go 12-4 up against Higgins. Robertson first in the Quarters after beating Gilbert 13-9.

Hendry has been brilliant. If he keeps this up, I genuinely think that he could end up going on and winning the whole thing. Would be magnificent to see.

Brilliant from Hendry!

O'Sullivan vs Williams on now. Good start to the match and both players look like they could win it. I think Williams may edge it though.

I don't think Hendry was brilliant, just that Higgins was rubbish, and unlucky, every time he missed he seemed to somehow leave the ball on

Trump up now against Carter. Will be interesting to see how he does.
