Pitchers and Catchers in about 5 days, some teams already in camp. How's your teams shaping up for 2012?

Also who's interested in some Yahoo fantasy baseball this year? If we get enough interest we can set that up pretty soon.

rangers??? looking good. two question marks in the starting pitching...yu darvish and feliz. hoping for the best but i'm sure there's going to be some transition issues.

Im up for a fantasy baseball this year.

Yankees had a very good offseason with the moves made, all Cash needs to do is get rid of AJ then it would be perfect.

Wow, out of the blue. I love it though.

Still need players for the fantasy league btw, post if interested.

In a word, stacked.

With Pettitte back we potentially have a 7 man-rotation but of course it never works out like that.

CC Sabathia - Lost some weight and is talking about controlling it, he's gonna be ace whatever weight.
Kuroda - Might have some AL transition issues early season but should come good.
Pineda - He's gonna have games where he struggles simply because of experience but he's also gonna have games where he is unhittable. His K/9 rates are fantastic, his slider is beautiful. His velocity is a bit down at the moment but he's not fully streteched out yet.
Nova - Might have second season issues but I expect we might see him improve on his rookie year.
Hughes - I'm guessing he is the 5th starter at this point, looks great in spring training so far but you never know with him. If he bounces back then 1 through 5 this a top 5 in all of baseball rotation.

Garcia - At this point he is the long man out of the pen but could quite easily become 5th starter should Hughes not stand up or injuries to any of the others. Probably will end up traded at some point in July to a team missing a rotation arm if all goes well.
Pettitte - Minor league deal, if he is anywhere near effective he will be knocking on the rotations door in June/July.

Logan - Left out only guy again, should be adequate again.
Wade - Bargain basement find last season, more of the same this.

Roberton
- If he cuts out some walks and maintains his K rate then he is likely to be stepping into the closer spot after this season.
Soriano - Probably expects to get off to a better start this season, again might be auditioning for the closer role.
Rivera - He's being coy about it but I think this is his last season and I am just gonna enjoy watching the guy.

Guys that might help us at some point if they get healthy: Joba, Feliciano, Aardsma.
Guys that might break through: Phelps, Mitchell, Kontos, Betances, Rapada.
Guys that are talented but probably too early for impact: Banuelos, Warren.

Cashman has done a really nice job this offseason, at one point we were heading into the season with a 3 man rotation now its 7 potential starters deep. He also added little pieces that are small gambles but could have big rewards like Aardsma (more of a 2013 guy) and Rapada who might become a cheap left out only pickup.

It's baseball so I try not to get carried away with predictions because they usually turn out wrong but this is the strongest Yankee's bullpen I have seen for quite a few years, add in a top line offense and really they should be stronger than last season. Think it will be a nice battle with the Rays in the AL East, Red Sox trailing behind a bit at this point (I don't like the look of their rotation).

Nice write-up Leg-End but I can do it a tad more succinctly - They will still be cnuts.

Red Sox have solid pitching among Lester, Carpenter, Buchholz, Beckett and Matsuzaka. With a new manager and some major changes, including Varitek leaving, I look for a transitional year and if we are lucky, second place in the division. Yankees are too strong to think otherwise.

I'm going to post my opinion about Baseball

Right after these advertisements..

I don't watch baseball regular season live so I skip the worst of it. But I think its a common issue with most American sports, the NFL is particularly bad.

Only have 3 teams signed up for the fantasy league so far, it needs a minimum of 4 to start.

Pineda stank up the joint in his final Spring Training start, speculation he might start in AAA. Dudes sitting at like 89-91 after being a 97+ hurler, trade won't look so good if he never gets that back, I mean could be any number of issues including injury but 5mph is a lot to give up.

Pineda did hit 94 yesterday. He has been sent for an MRI today said he felt sore yesterday so see what might be the problem. Scan's before and after the trade he was fine. I read reports that the Seattle told Pineda to not work out rest his arm after a first full season. So hopefully it's just after rookie 200 innings season with a long rest that is the problem. If Pineda is fine he would start for me, he has been much better then Nova in Spring. Nova has been pretty bad yet no panic button for him.

Soon as they mention shoulder I'm thinking bad thoughts, just natural to think the worst really.

I'm doubting but hoping that they cut Ibanez loose and keep Maxwell, Ibanez's bat speed looks gone and Maxwell is a big guy that can steal bases but hes out of options. At this point I'm betting they don't dump Ibanez and they lose Maxwell on waivers.

Pineda to DL with shoulder tendonitis according to beat writers on twitter. That's a good outcome.

Wow, fun year so far, and only three games in. Miggy just hit a three run home in the ninth to tie the game with the Sox. That's a pitch I don't think Bailey would have thrown. First pitch fastball, see yah later

The Yankees sucked opening series but the Red Sox sucked more.

Pineda heading for an MRI on his shoulder, doesn't look good. Great trade that one turned out to be.........although Campos looks money in Low-A.

Going mental here! Two perfectos in three years for my White Sox. Terrific.

What a game between the Yankees and Red Sox!

Humber with the perfect game, Yankees with the 9 run deficit comeback. A good night.

Mo's down for the season, possibly for his career. I can't fecking believe it.

Mariano Rivera tore an ACL and looks to be out for the season

I hate the Yankees with a passion, but it's hard to hate someone like Mo. With this being his last season(he made a couple of statements in the spring) - this isn't the way you want a legend to go :(

EDIT: Leg-End

Good timing. God I hope he feels the need to fight back, no way does he deserve to go out like that.
