I didn't even see it kick up on my stream. For all this time I thought it was a catch.
Then the same umpire makes another terrible call, this ends Philly's chance for a big inning. That kind of call on a double play is made quite often in fairness.
The worst call in baseball is often at 2B on a double play. Many times the infielder doesn't touch the bag before throwing. Purists and apologists will say it's given as an out to protect the player from getting bowled over at 2B and possibly injured. Whatthefeckever. Step on the bag, it's the rule!

Yeah the double play does tend to get the calls for the defense.

I get tired of hearing Buck and McCarver's smug voices. Buck is only in the business because his father was so great and opened all the doors for him. McCarver know his beans about the game but instead of constantly second guessing managers, why doesn't he just manage a team and see how much easier it is to call it from the booth or in hindsight? I still remember Deion dumping water over his smug face.

I wasn't saying it was bad/wrong or anything. It just seemed to happen every time the camera switched to a one of the players.

One of those games when you can tell no matter how long he works at it Pettitte isnt going to get it going, happens now and again with him doesnt it.
Aye, i can forgive him for his age, but the pitching issue is going to be somewhat of a problem for the Yankees in the coming games. Whether or not the starters are getting enough rest.
