Veron has a god given 'gift' to play in our team.

In Hungary his pass to Ole, that led to RVNs best chance just before half time, was the pass of the (admittedly short) season so far.

More of that please Seba.

The whole team hasnt found its rhyme yet. When they do, I expect Veron to be turning on the style.

Butt is a similar player to Hamann, good at doing a specific role, doing the simple things and protecting the back four.</strong><hr></blockquote>

I recall you saying in the past that you wouldn't like him to become a regular..

Now you have him above both Scholes and Veron?

On current or recent form, yes

What's wrong with that?

Nothing...

Just interesting to see the decline of the other two..

As you lot do with Emile "Goal-King" Heskey!

He showed some sublime touches when he came on yesterday <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Or the improvement of Butt..?</strong><hr></blockquote>

So now you rate Butt highly?

Some improvement to be considered above "world class" stars such as Veron and Scholes..

Fortune will be taking Giggs' place at this rate..

come on butt has improved alot over the last year

maybe that has more to do with it

There you are....

I agree..

But from average to first choice over the other pair?

Butt has raised his game the last year

Scholes and Veron have played below their capabilities

Add to that our defensive troubles, and I think it's easy for anyone to see why it makes sense to play Butt at the time being

I just hope Gerrard will be able to get his place back in the England side...</strong><hr></blockquote>

im not saying that hes a world class player and everyone should be shit scared cuz hes playing

just on current form he should be in our starting 11

Not if he played as he did last season</strong><hr></blockquote>

He was decent for most of last season...but not as good as the previous year...

If he returns to that level we're going to be hard to stop...

And he will be back in the international team if he plays like last year..

Thats fine..

But his rise to first team status is not just down to his improvement is it? But also to the decline of Veron and Scholes..

True

If Scholes and / or Veron play to their potential, then Butt will struggle getting in the team.

It's great to have so many great midfielders, so that we don't rely on one to be on form all the time.

Its great for everyone else that you have Veron...

Thats for sure

I think La Coruna are capable of beating any team in the world, whoever the opposition's got in the team - stupid comment Davo

But his performance Vs the them in last years quarter final was one of the best individual performances I saw in last year's CL.

As I've said I hope he stays in your team on the strength of the odd decent pass..like the one on that night...

and you agree that he should be out of the team in favour of battler Nicky Butt..

Long live Veron

So apart from that sublime pass, he wasn't brilliant that night?

He had a decent game if I recall correctly...

Keep in the team...perhaps one day he'll have another

Decent? He was superb - in the midst of every move, didn't give the ball away, and set up three goals

If it had been Gerrard, you would have said it was a world class performance

I think more was made of his performance because of that pass...take that away and I don't think he would have been described as superb..

Was decent tho..for a change

Keep him in the team

That kind of passes win games - and only world class players are capable of it.

If he can continue playing like he did on Saturday, then I've got no worries about keeping him in the side.

me neither..

In fact I'll go as far as to say that I hope he starts for you as much as possible...

Unlike you, who would currently prefer Butt..

Lets look on the bright side he's getting better. Remember Pires had a poor first season for the Arse. give him until christmas.

Somehow, I think if we signed Sorin, Veron will played better. ;)

Anyway, I'm quite happy with his form so far. Let's give him and Forlan another chance. <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />
