Rubbish, no player deserves to be kept in the team of he is playing bad, you have 2 players for the same position one is playing well and your star player is shite, pretty simple for me, you other player starts and you star player is sat on the bench and you hope he takes his chance when brought on.

How can Madrid get a fee that was contingent on him achieving something that he did not? Doesnt make much sense unless they was a penalty clause, which too would highly be unlikely as they was no evidence that we planned to sell him a year after buying him..

We ridiculously overpaid for him, he turned out to be the sterotypical 'But can he do it on a wet night in Stoke' player, yet we still managed to only lose £15m. I see this as the clawing back of a victory, to be honest. I've rarely seen such poor displays from such a vaunted player as I saw from Di Maria after his first few games.

I don't hold a grudge against di Maria. It just didn't work out for both sides. Di Maria didn't fit into LvGs plans, Manchester United isn't the right club for di Maria (weather, league, etc.). There's always a risk with a player from abroad. It's the same when Barcelona brought Ibrahimovic and he dind't fit into Guardiolas system. The club handled it in the best way. Sold him as soon as possible to a club elsewhere for an acceptable price.
I'm happy with that and now we can look forward to the weekend when our season starts and do the best with the squad we have.

I'm looking forward to his first PSG press conference. There'll be van Gaal bashing there, and in an open letter if there is one.

van Gaal made it pretty clear he wasn't the star man and just another part of the team.
The mentally weak suggestions are overstated. He doesn't want to be here, van Gaal doesn't want him here, and there's a team willing to bail him out of his "prison". Everything he's done in his career would suggest he is far from mentally weak.
He didn't really say many bad things about Real, so not sure he'll say much regarding LVG. Yeah we don't really need that, what is going to be funny is that I can bet we will draw PSG in our UCL group
Fully expect him to say something along these lines. He was very professional when he was forced out from Madrid. Don't see his stance changing, under these circumstances.
