    Why should Carrick play?

We must give him a rest. He is one of our best players, he is not that young anymore and he is playing nearly every match for the whole 90 minutes... he should stay at home and charge his battery.

I would also do without Jones and Smalling. Field McNair/Blackett and Evans. Evans needs self confidence like you need air to breathe.

Who would play in Carrick's place? Could play Mcnair and Blackett, definitiely not Evans; he's not good enough and playing against Yeovil won't improve him. The reason I picked Smalling and Jones is to give them a match together, hopefully build some sort of partnership. Although that is unlikely because Louis likes to have a left sided CB.

    De Gea
    Rafael McNair Evans Shaw
    Valencia Fletcher Herrera Januzaj
    Falcao Wilson
Nothing fancy, just try not to lose 4-0.

We can put Fletcher there, or Pearson maybe. It's Yeovil...

I was completely disappointed by LVG on choosing back 3 for every game. Basically we have 3 defenders who are playing for fitness and confidence and are scared to death to move out of their position even though 352 system demands it. This leads to short of a player in middle and no passing from middle at all. Attack build up is as fast as my 90 year old grand'mas walk.

Some people might argue that the best for the team given the players quality. SAF also used the same players. Remember!!! On paper and paycheck we have very best team. On grass we are playing shitty football. Hope these days wont last long. Injuries and lack of rotation during this festive period is a setback for us.

I hope this game serves as best one to boost some confidence and put 3 or 5 past them.

Assuming we don't have any more of the injured lads back

    Lindegaard

    Rafael
    Smalling
    Evans
    Shaw

    Fletcher

    Rooney
    Herrera

    Januzaj

    Falcao
    Wilson

A couple of youngsters such as Blackett and Perrera on the bench with van Persie and Mata also there for emergencies.

We need to have a go for the FA Cup this season. Normally I'd chuck a couple more youngsters in from the start, but in this instance I'd rather try and get the game won first.

    MK Dons say hi
Disregarding that we hardly had a reserve side out even, I'm sure that we would have won that game if we played it again. Just the way things went that a few mistakes gave them belief and destroyed us basically.

I hope we don't feel too weak a side, from LvG's comments on the FA Cup I'm thinking he'll make it at least a half and half side. Pereira, Wilson and Januzaj could use starts and I think Blackett might place alongside Smalling with Rafael and Shaw in a back 4. The biggest issue is we will likely have to play Fletcher in the holding role.

Has to be a side that has half a chance to take this to a replay at Old Trafford.

    DDG -
Rafael Smalling Evans Shaw - Fletcher, Herrera, Rooney Januzaj Falcao, Wilson

I do hope to see Lingard, Di Maria and Perreira be involved.

How convieneint is it that when we get our first choice fullbacks we loose their cover. Also when we get all the defenders to move away from 5 at the back we lose the midfielders...

This would be my team except maybe Pereira in for Rooney and also Lindegaard starts.

I hope Pearson & Pereira gets to play

    -----------Lindegaard------------
Rafael---McNair---Rojo*---Shaw *Evans if Rojo's not fit
    -------------Pearson--------------
    --------Herrera---Pereira--------
    -------------Januzaj--------------
    ---------Falcao---Wilson---------

Subs: Harrop, Rothwell, Janko, Rooney, Smalling, Di Maria, W.Keane

As much as I would like to see the youngsters, the fact is we're more likely to end up in an MK Dons situation with a team like that than we would be to see them do well. The weather, the opposition being pumped up, etc all set it up to make their lives a living hell on the pitch.

Would like to see Blackett again, Januzaj needs the minutes with Rafael and Shaw.

Giggs must impress upon Van Gaal the potential pitfalls of being complacent. Both Exeter and Burton have left us with egg on our faces in the FA Cup over the past decade.

There's no reason not to take this as seriously as possible, i'd even go as far as viewing it in asimilar light to the PL.

Give Rafael, Shaw and Herrera a start to get them match fit, and give Wilson and Januzaj a start. Will like to see Pereira as well. The rest put our stronger players. Di Maria if he is back from injury also give him some game time to get him fit for Southhampton.

Likely see a lot of first-teamers considering it did not go well last time we played the cup and Van Gaal seems invested in winning the FA cup for the fans.

    Lindegaard
    McNair Smalling Blackett
    Rafael Fletcher Herrera Shaw
    Adnan
    Wilson Falcao

I hope Blind is fit for this one but it might be too soon for him and we might have to settle for Fletcher.

But we could have a squadron up there, they could all manoeuvre into the formation we wish to see. ;)

Hope Di Maria gets fit for this one. A sub appearance against Yeovil and a sub/start against Soton would be great. We have missed his pace these days!

    Carrick

Maybe we'll even see Ando in this one although LvG might be a little more cautious after the MK Dons debacle.

    I think we'll see:

    Lindegaard
    Smalling McNair Blackett
    Rafael --------------------- Shaw
    Fletcher --- Herrera
    Januzaj
    Wilson -- Falcao

    Dave
    Jones McNair Blackett
    Pearson
    Rafael Herrera Januzaj Shaw
    Falcao Wilson

    ----------------De Gea------------------
    Rafael----Smalling-Jones---------Shaw
    ---------------Carrick-------------------
    ----------Rooney--Herrera-------------
    ---Januzaj------------------Di Maria---
    ----------------Falcao-------------------

Please. Now we've got our full backs back hopefully we return to a back 4. Is it too early for Di Maria and Herrera?

Physio room says Di Maria,Fellani and Blind be available v Southampton.

    is their ground playable?

Why should it not be? The start to the New Year has been mild with but a scattering of light showers.

Whether the pitch has an unusually acute slope as Underhill did, i must confess ignorance.

Seeing as i'd much rather we triumph over these giant killers, maybe Dover can server that hopelessly romantic bent when it comes to football.

Ah right, cheers. Hope we don't underestimate Yeovil, really want us to take the FA cup seriously. Not playing again until the 11th so no reason why we can't pick a decent side.

Any idea which TV is telecasting this in India, tried finding it myself with no luck.
