  • Nothing to do with 4 at the back. We are playing 2 defensive wing backs against rubbish opposition and we’ve created feck all
Are you sure you know your own point? So you’re saying this is what happens when we play with 5 at the back to which I said what did we do with 4 at the back.

Now you’re saying it’s not about the 4 at the back. It the fact that we played 2 wingbacks. Ok is your point about wingers? If so what did our wingers do this season? Again I ask were we scoring freely with our 4-2-3-1 system?

Possession, control and pass completion has been a lot better in general but we look completely toothless. If we can start to attack with more urgency whilst keeping the improved control then it will be the start of something but for now we have too many square pegs out there and need players better suited to what we are trying to do.

For the Casemiro and Eriksen question, I think RA knows they are better than some of the lads he has been playing but they are already earmarked for the exit due to their age/contract situation so he probably thinks there is little point playing them for short term gains when he can be assessing the likes of Mainoo.
Counter that with, when ETH was sacked we had one of the best defense. We didn’t concede goals, now we leak goals in absolute fcukin insane rate.

The first 7 games for Amorim is worse than ETH last 7 games.

Also we play with 5 defenders. 5. Man United. Then we concede even direct corners with 5 defenders on the pitch.

The issue is, coming back from bad results is usually very very hard. Amorim needs to arrest the collapse of team.

    Weak.

They are where they deserve to be! 14th!

Not a single team in the league would play United and not fancy beating them.

That's just objectively false, there was a push in his back as he went to jump
I've watched it numerous times now. There's no "push". There's no hand on his back. He's piss weak under crosses and he's going to be targeted every single time for the rest of the season. I'm sick of the excuses for him.

Spurs wasn't a foul either, just more weak goalkeeping. It's pathetic how much these players just get physically bullied every game all over the pitch.
It was a foul, you can't obstruct the keepers arm when he's challenging for the ball. VAR if in operation would have called a foul. Today was an awful error and Onana's his reaction to the goal said it all also.

Nope, just weak and poor goalkeeping on both goals.

Ugarte is an Amorim player by the way
Who the club signed against ETHs wishes
    Eh?

Amorim hasn't bought anyone. I'm not interested in whether Amorim likes him, vouched for him etc. I am watching Ugarte play and this player isn't doing enough for me. What does he add? Authority? Quality? Inspiration? Leadership?

And someone on here says that Ugarte 'does his job'.

    Really?

Who is that interviewing Amorim on Amazon? I recognise the voice.

It's quite clear you're seeing what you want to see, in order to justify your admitted dislike of him.

He was pushed in the back, as he went to jump, there isn't any question about it. We as a team need to get better at protecting the keeper in these situations, I have no idea what our set piece coaches are coaching.

This team is so so naive. No street smarts whatsoever. Antony gots tackled roughly by Angel Gomes who is already on a yellow, and gets up right away, while they have a referee on the pitch who is trigger-happy when it comes to showing yellows. Semedo's scream on the other hand was heard in London, when Bruno tackled him. When Antony gets tackled in other matches by a player who is not on a yellow, he rolls around for 2 minutes. Of course, Angel Gomes gets taken off the game 30 seconds later.

Andre tackles Amad after he dribbles past him in a promising position for a cross, and not a single player goes to the referee to make pressure, since our 2 previous fouls were rewarded with a yellow. I'm not saying we lost because of the referee, however, we don't know how to take advantage of certain situations or pressure the referee into making a decision or make him buy a foul/card.

In a Premier League, where everyone is trying to get marginal advantages, we are standing there looking like idiots.

This naivety is so frustrating. Has been that way for years. We aren’t anywhere near as ruthless as a top sports team needs to be.

You think? Bruno’s two cards were debatable I suppose. He didn’t give us much in general play. The goal from the corner… fair enough I’d say. I don’t blame the ref
The first was debatable but there was no doubt about the second. Late & high !!! Every ref in the league is calling that one.
Smart players change their game after the first yellow

    United are in the doldrums, we need leadership right now and the best man might be Jason Wilcox to lead the footballing side out of this;

We have a great under 18 side, an u see 21 side in 4th place in PL2 and yet none of them are being brought through even though we languish in 14th with 8 defeats and 22 Points.

Internally we can make simple changes to improve the performances on the field. These are the obvious changes Wilcox needs to back Amorim and insist on certain changes.

    1. Drop Onana, play Tom Heaton forget Bayinder they don’t understand the Physicality of the EPL even though both are units. Onana must be sold and upgraded in the summer.

    2. Drop Bruno / Strip him of captaincy Give it to Maguire or Mazraoui who was again our best player today, we’re a mid table PL to bottom 6 at best, Harry at home at that level

    3. Stop playing Dalot at LWB, promote Amass or Muntato from the youth set ups both are offensive wing back style players who have pace and can score or assist a goal.

    4. We need far more offensive options from the bench, I’d like to see Wheatley and Biancheri or Dan Gore on the bench going forward.

    5. Wilcox needs to read the riot act, sit down with Amorim and every player one and one wnd do a monthly review with every player asking them how a club like United can get 7 points in the last 7 PL matches.

    6. After their reviews, we must tell the following players that they need to find another club asap, as they won’t play very much this season.

7 A Onana, A Bayinder, V Lindelof, T Malacia, Eriksen, Casemiro, Antony, Zirkzee, Rashford, Garnaucho all must be told they will be sold in January or the summer, so tell their agents to find them a new club.

    8. Replace Onana with Heaton as number 1, play J Evan’s, G Mkonki, Muntato, Amass,
D Gore, J Fletcher, Biancheri and Wheatley in the squad, I’d keep Casemiro and Eriksen but use Eriksen or Mainoo as the number 10’s.

Amorim needs to make decisions without Rashford, Garnaucho, his current team has little pace in attack, he needs to look to the youth and find Something short term.

    9. We desperately need some movements in transfer market and we need a left wing back and a genuine number 9 in asap plus another BTB midfielder.

    10. If we don’t get the players Ruben needs, then I see him being sacked by March/April when the season is over for the club, out of Europe and narrowly avoiding relegation, Ruben just might have to change his principles or he might not get the time he needs, so Wilcox needs to start earning his corn and getting some elite players into this club asap. I give Ruben 3 more games and he’ll go back to 4231 system.

Well the squad is poor, but I expect we will improve with time. Our performances have been better, that is a fact.
Performances are better in maybe 3/4 games, the rest pretty mundane and no real goal threat in the team unless Amad explodes?

I feel sorry for him but he’s not helping himself. Playing effectively a back 5 with defensive wing backs against the top 4 I can live with but against one of the worst teams in the PL. it’s inexcusable

2nd half basic stats where Wolves had the man advantage for 52 minutes.

    Goals - Wolves 2 United 0
Shots on goal. - Wolves 3 United 5
Shots on target - Wolves 2 United 2

This might sound wild and outrageous, but perhaps it’s the fact his squad is abysmal compared to the one he constructed at Sporting?

    A wild theory, I know.
Players like M Nunes was a star in that side and look at him at City this season, we over rate foreign players far too much and very few of them overachieve in the EPL, our squad needs a serious Investment into young British player like J Branthwaite, M Rogers, M Gibbs Whire, C Rigg, A Gomes, or PL proven like M Cunha, kerkez and A Nouri.

We need to promote Dan Gore and Other young players to give the team some legs, youth and energy.

Only Chelsea win with 3421 won in the EPL, there’s a reason for that and why most successful teams use 433 or 4231 formation.

    The players are shite.

If these morons could defend setpieces his record would be looking a lot better.

State of Garnacho there, feck me, that is atrocious.
Amorim keeps picking them, drop most of them and bring in the kids they can’t do any worse!
