Seriously? From 100 mil winger you don't expect goals and assists? Winger good in pressing and keeping the ball you can get for 10 mil.
No, it’s obvious you didn’t know what type of player Antony is and that’s on you, you can’t judge players attributes based on price tags.
He brings a lot more, as we seen that second half, than hoping Nunez somehow improves his finishing as if that doesn’t apply to literally every other striker in the world.

What a save by Dave as well! My goodness saved our 3 points

Good for us this time but I don’t understand how they measure added time in the PL. should have been minimum 6 min to begin with and then 1 extra during added time

Awesome. Despite missing key players we’ve managed to hit the ground running after the unusual World Cup break.

Three wins out of three, and zero goals conceded.

That referee was appalling. Is he new at this level? Was generally helpful for us today, but I wouldn’t want this toss-a-coin clown in charge of any future games.

We deserved the win anyway. Wolves are hopeless. Could have played to Christmas 2023 and they still wouldn’t score.

VAR is going to ruin football. It is ridiculous to call a handball when the ball reflects at pace from the opposition and goes into the net. Are we trying to find as many ways as possible to cancel goals?

Must say we should have found an easier way to win this game if we played our strongest team from the start and polished up on our ball control and first touch.

Delighted with the three points, and even more delighted to see their cnut manager fuming at the end. Happy new year everyone!

At least they should be consistent, if Rashford's goal is a handball, then it should have been a pen when their defender blocked a shot with his hand.

    Happy New Year!

Best way to start the new year coming away with 3 points from a tricky fixture.

very close for me... but the cigar goes to Varane: never looked troubled
Luke Shaw for me. Stepped out brilliantly so many times to snuff out Wolves' attacks. Looked like a seasoned vet at centre back.

ETH, love him as a coach, but did he throw Rashford to the wolves saying why he dropped him

Martial needs a feckin rocket up his arris.
Too passive, too casual, no fight or determination.
Antony put in some good work, but very little in the way of penetration. Fluffed his lines at vital moments.
Those two and Bruno’s regular, erratic, spunking passes and possession, were the weak link and made it hard for us.

Good we came up with the win in basically a battle of trenches, but what an awful team (Wolves). I hope I see the back of them the same way I enjoyed seeing the back of Stoke City.

The ref was such a weak joke. Lopetegui should have been tossed out at least twice today with his antics.

Good win, wolves always tricky game. Rashford made a difference after being a naughty boy .
DDG great save , game should have never been that close, need to finish off the chances created, Martial needs to be more physical. Antony how many chances does he need. 2nd goal ruled out baffles me hits his arm in front of his stomach then off his knee ? These goals now are ruled out .? But if it hit post then came back and off him it would have counted??

Banana skin avoided. Thanks God for Rashford. How long to the "Antony is a flop" thread? VdB is our worst footballer. He makes me miss Phil Jones.

    Yep !
Shaw was class, along with Varane.
Despite the expected criticism, Wan-Bissaka was very solid and made several important blocks and tackles.

Good defensive performance, wasteful up front which would have done for us in the past. Great to beat Wolves and into the top 4. Back 5 excellent, really need to take the chances we create.

fuk me we MUST bring in a forward in this window....we've got to find someone other than Rashford who can score a goal or put in a consistent performance up front

He got yanked off at half time after a dismal performance and was then mysteriously ill or injured for the remaining games. Erik does seem to use the undefined health issue rather a lot for players that are in the doghouse, Sancho was supposedly ill too and we now know that was a smokescreen.
Sancho does have a history of being ill though.

feck me, I forgot Antony was in the match until his defensive intervention.
Antony was actually ok…..because the modern day winger is now expected to score 20 plus goals a season we forget what wingers used to be like. Most matches weren’t 7-9/10s they were 6s and what the winger does is constantly run and dribble at the opposition. Keeps them on the back foot, and opens up space for others

At least they should be consistent, if Rashford's goal is a handball, then it should have been a pen when their defender blocked a shot with his hand.

Yes, I agree, but the very fact that VAR got one decision correct and then they missed the other shows it is not consistent. I saw a fair few incidents in the World Cup which were confusing, and some that were very time consuming. The rule that even clearly accidental handballs are ruled out if they result in a goal is very unfair in my opinion. The speed and short distant involved in Rashford “goal” surely shows it was unintentional.
