'Kept it well, but no cutting edge'. Where have we heard that before?Thing is, this happens more or less with any team we put out. Whilst we certainly need more creativity added to our squad, we need to work on game plans to beat teams with a low block. It seems to be the same thing said every week.

Ashley Young has been our most progressive line breaking passer. That is really concerning me.

The revisionism about LVG is tiresome. People are trying to convince us he has been good here.
It’s crazy. We were even more boring a toothless under him than we are now and he had a much better squad.

Not the worst half we've had but it's not like we've great either. They clearly had the best chance and it was a great save by Romero.

However we should have had a penalty. Everyone can see that. The fact that wasn't given after a VAR review is a joke. I see it's Michael Oliver in the studio? Classic. Absolute wanker.

I wouldn't go that far, but I am starting to worry that he's not as good as we may have thought.

He's very raw, and nowhere near ready for playing week in week out and a club like United. When I've seen him this season he seems to do a lot more bad things than good. He should only really be an impact sub, backup player for you at the moment.

It's no coincidence to me that he didn't feature in the 4-1 win against Newcastle and only came on as a late substitute in the 4-0 win over Chelsea.

Either short memories or his fans trying to rewrite history. Guy was totally washed out here.

Not sure what you expect. There isn't a creative bone on that pitch.

Rio's Union of Centre Halves membership card burning in his pocket, come on Rio lad.

I think they had the better of the chances in their dominant spell midway through the half, we've been ok up to the final third where we've done very little. I hope for a bit more impetus soon.

    I agree.

Rio’s right about James and Greenwood being far too lazy at making runs into the box.

Rio thinks that's not a penalty despite the clear contact that sent Williams tumbling to the ground. Whether he went looking for it or not is irrelevant.

    We're doing better than expected.

Could easily have got a pen there, but I can just about see why they've not given it. Wolves are lucky though.

We had so many youngesters playing during LVGs second season in defense when Valencia and Shaw missed almost 70% of the season or more and Jones was out for most of it like normal too. Jackson, Love, Varela, Mensah, Mcnair all played a lot then. CBJ did alright I think and didn't look worse than Darmian and Rojo really.

Basically we had Valencia, Shaw, Darmian, Rojo, Young, Jones out with injuries at the same time at some point. Plus attacking injuries with Martial, Rooney, Wilson, Powell out which gave Rashford the chance. It was probably only Lingard that could avoid injuries that season as it feels like we played him almost all the time.
I literally forgot some of those players. I think a few of those youngsters did really well and was surprised when they were no longer part of the set up. Love and McNair being two in particular. Wasn't giving debuts to youth one of LVG's core philosophies? We have been screaming for massive squad reinforcements for 6 or 7 years now, so I guess that is now normal. When you look back and see that we were saying basically the same things under LVG, it doesn't make for pretty reading!

Say what you want about Mata, but if the rest of our attacking players moved and made runs like he did, we might actually unlock some defences. It's just a shame that he's clearly on the downside.

Let's see if Gomes gets a run in during the second half. He is on the bench so we might as well use him. Can't imagine him being worse than Mata

Mata and Young, two players the caf love to bash, have actually been our better players today.

Anyone calling James lazy has to be having a laugh.
Needing coaching on making the runs yes, lazy no.

Greenwood is a weird mix of being a great finisher, but likes to loiter around well outside the box

Said at the time that James scoring those three early goals would have a negative impact as we’d inevitably overrate him. It’s exactly what came to pass, but I got fecking slated by some for saying this.
