After the performance Lingard has had I would been relieved to see Jones go in the no.10 position.I have seen enough to know that this team with this set up is not going to win. Now Mata is no good for these type of games. We need to bring on Matic ( yes I know) because that lets Pogba go up forward a bit more. Look at the difference in play with City, Pool, Spurs and then us. None of our corners were remotely at an acceptable level. None in either of the two games we have played.Mata is such an uninspired sub.

In a perfect world he would be out on loan as Rashford and Martial would take the bench-spots. Unfortunately the only alternatives we have for our right-side is James with pace and work-rate, Dalot with some pace and work-rate but is a wing-back first and foremost, Mata with technique but no pace/strength/work-rate or Pereira/Lingard with superficial work-rate.
Forgot about Greenwood and Gomes while writing, but they seem to be in the "will be introduced this season but not leaned on" category.Our midfield is getting ran over.- Status
