No Young, Matic or Mata in the starting lineup. Those were my main concerns last season so I can at least be glad about that. Hope Maguire & Lindelof play as good as people have been hyping them up to be the past week. No CB on the bench is a worry
    Tuanzebe...

Yeah, if they give an opportunity. it's the other way around, a kid and a Pogba in midfield against one of the best counter attacking team. I fear worse

We'll probably be the one who's gonna depend on counter attacking in this game though.

    Tuanzebe is on the bench.

Predicted Andreas would make way despite the assist but I expected Mata to replace him, if only to help us retain possession better but seeing James is exciting. It's all set up for the counter

    11/11.

Happy with that line up, predicting a 0-2 win to United.

But hoping for cover down the flanks too. James and Rash to watch the overlaps
Yeah. Wolves transition quick so James' pace in pressing, getting back into position for our defensive shape, and tracking overlaps should be a big help defensively.

All things being equal, it's my first choice XI from preseason (with the addition of Maguire).
Yeah same. Would love to see Gomes and Greenwood given a shot, but I see why they’re not playing tonight.

Annoying that Pereira makes the bench and Gomes doesn't.

He's not going from starting against Chelsea to not being in the squad completely. Be a bit harsh from Ole. Granted he didn't have a great game, he did contribute. He can also play as a centre midfielder, which could be needed if Ole wants to sure it up late on in the game.

Will James play on the left and Rashford on the right or the other way around?

Definitely thought Mata was going to start this one, as i can't see too many opportunities where we're gonna counter attack these lot.

Tuanzebe is on there, but that in itself shows progress from Jones, Smalling and particularly Rojo being in line to play. I agree on the progress on Young, Matic and Mata.

That has to be the paciest most mobile front 4 we've ever put out?!

I'm happy with that team. I think its gonna be the team we see a lot this this season. I dont know why people think we are going to have all the ball possession was 50/50 in the FA Cup game last season.

Unbelievable based on what? Do you think if he was ripping it up in training he'd be out of the squad?

His chance will come, as it has done with Greenwood, but I suspect he will have to take his opportunity in the cups to force his way into the league team.
People are relentless about these sort of things. Once the Caf has gotten started complaining over something, it never cease easily.

People are acting as if Gomes nit being in the squad is something baffling and can't wait to cry every second post about it.

Tuanzebe gets the nod over Smalling and Jones again.

Young gets the nod over Dalot again.

    Interesting.

Not overly convinced by starting Daniel James in this game. I don't think he will be the key to unlocking a tight Wolves defence. Would much rather have taken an additional midfielder and moved Pogba further up the pitch.

    Hopefully I'm proven wrong.

Matic is now way down the pecking order. He can't get in the team ahead of Periera, Mctominay Lingard and no doubt Fred when he returns.

You could safely bet your ass hair he'd be starting today if Jose was still in charge.

Happy with that lineup, but what makes me most happy is Smalling and Jones not making the squad again!

Things are starting to look promising, another transfer window or 2 like this and things will look up.

Big game this against what I believe are our genuine rivals this season. 3 points here would be MASSIVE.

    And wearing the armband...

Did not think James would get the start but glad Ole has confidence in him.

Can see it Martial left, James right and Rashford striker.

Why? In pre season we never saw that. I can imagine Rashford and James will be on the wings to exploit the space left in behind from Wolves' wing backs.

Rashford on the left and James on the right.

Oh my bad, dont know why I didnt see that. I want to see more of Tuanzebe too so thats good. More positives

Guess you never saw the days of Giggs/Kanchelskis/Sharpe etc;)

I dare say I'm older than you me laddo ;)
But firstly those 3 didn't play together that much, and today has four running pacy machines. So I win :wenger:
