In away end for this one, I guess we'll have to entertain ourselves with our singing as we often do - the team certainly hasn't been doing that lately

I’d be surprised if United win this.

FFS! I'm going to this game. Give me something to be optimistic about. All a bit doom and gloom at the moment. Got young players all looking to leave Man Utd. When did that become a thing to be happy about?

    - Young players used to come to Utd for opportunities, now they get publicly criticised by the manager so he can prove a nidicolous point.

Be nice to see a youngster on the bench for this one.

    None on the flight.

    De Gea, Romero, Joel Pereira

    Valencia, Young, Blind, Shaw

    Smalling, Lindelof, Jones, Bailly

    Herrera, Pogba, McTominay

    Mata, Lingard

    Martial, Rashford, Sanchez

Usual caveats about other players may travel a different route to the game.

West Ham have been using 3 at the back for most of their PL games since November, so must be a fair chance we match them up, though they tend to pack the midfield with just one up front.

go with sanchez and martial up top, pogba-matic-herrera midfield 3, match with 3 at the back and try to push young and valencia up for a damn change.

So Romero is already back, which means he'll probably start in FA final. DG can officially claim Golden Glove on his own if he gets a clean sheet tonight then Pereira will play league closing match. Quite an arrangement

How many usually travel? Presumably (hopefully) Matic is making his own way.

I hope not, and think it would be foolish especially after an injury.

Totally disagree , if it was not for the injury he would have started the semi, 100 % Romero should start the Final , he has played the rest of the rounds.
We owe no loyalty to Romero, I wouldn't leave the best goalkeeper in the world on the bench. He's an adequate back up but I would play DDG.

I hope De Gea starts the final.
I was a bit miffed when Romero started against Ajax in the final last year. I understand he played the other rounds; but like someone said we owe him no loyalty and whoever the better player is deserves to start in the crunch games really.

Since when do players make their own way to an away match ?

there was. I remember reading somewhere Rashford (from M.E.N i assume) travelled alone when we had a match in London last season

Romero started such an important match vs Ajax last year so i find no reason Jose wont pick him for FA final. Chelsea will play Caballero too. Of course DG is better but Jose's decision is final decision and i cant see him go the opposite way tbh

It is not uncommon either when they have been away on international duty and catching up with the squad the night before an away game etc.

I think it is everything about loyalty , so you're saying he was good enough to play in the previous rounds but not good enough for the Final, I dont agree.
Looking at our opponents in previous rounds, yes he was good enough to play in those games. In the biggest games against better opposition, I wouldn't leave out the best GK in the world to appease our back-up.

after internationals I can see that, but I thought they all travilled together for PL away games there has been no international games.

True but sometimes they are other factors like video shoots for sponsors etc.

He's played a part in gtting us to the final not sure he deserves to be dropped. If it was Martial who had played all the games up front instead of Lukaku would you be making the same call?

I would pick the best team for every game, and personally prefer Martial to Lukaku.

Imagine if Schmeichel hadn't saved that penalty in the 1999 FA Cup semi because we had played Raymond Van der Gouw all tournament.

I feel like a bit of a prick not looking forward to this game but it's so obviously odds-on to be shite.

I wish now the pressure and relative meaning of the game is lessened we could play with a bit of verve and freedom and I wish the lads would actually play like they're fighting for a cup final place.

As has been said trying something new in this dead rubber, such as having the fullbacks push up to supply true offensive width, would be ideal but I fear the same old shit unfortunately.

No chance, we’ll play De Gea against Chelsea and rightly so.

So did De Gea, does he deserve to be dropped?

Not much reward for players on the fringes then is there. Romero is an able replacement who hasn't let us down.

This place is usually up in arms if an in form squad player gets dropped for the more established player

hopefully we win this as I’ve just noticed Spurs could pinch 2nd if we just pack up our bags like the last game and repeat it.
