West Bromwich Albion Football Club - nicknamed West Brom, The Baggies, The Throstles, Albion or simply WBA, are a professional football club based in West Bromwich, West Midlands, and were founded in 1878 as West Bromwich Strollers, by workers of George Salter's Spring Works. They were renamed West Bromwich Albion in 1880, becoming the first team to adopt the Albion suffix.

West Brom were one of the founding members of The Football League in 1988, and have one League title win, 5 FA Cup wins, and one League Cup win to their name. Even though West Brom have spent the majority of their history in the top-flight of English football, when the FA Premier League was founded in 1992 the club found themselves in the third tier, and have negotiated periodic relegation-promotion oscillations to the Premier League ever since. West Brom play their homes games at The Hawthorns, and share historic rivalries with Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

West Brom have been pretty great recently, even Chelsea struggled to beat them. Scored more league goals than us and all!

Seriously need Mkhitaryan fit for this one :(

WBA are giants compared to Palace right now. Dont' feel confident at all.

We need Martial back. Rashford seems out of it.

The big question is if we'll keep the 4-1-4-1 without Carrick, with Fellaini coming in and Herrera dropping to Carrick's position, or if we change to 4-2-3-1 with Lingard coming and Mata to #10 and Martial hopefully again at the left.

This will be interesting. 4th match inside 10 days, so some rotation is expected. Happy to have Tony V back, doubt Bailly will play. Can Carrick play his 3rd inside 6 days? Zlatan will start even though he must feel tired. Can’t really afford to leave him on the bench as he, Pogba & Micki seem to the only players producing goals at the moment.

    Herrera

    Fellaini—Pogba

    Mata————----——Martial

    …is what I’m expecting.

Another difficult tie, especially considering WBA are in form and going to the Hawthorns is never easy.

Hopefully we can show the same winning resolve we showed today.

Going to be a tough tough bruising match.

A draw would be good even though we need a win.

Really not confident for this one. Carrick surely can't play again after 2x 90 minutes this close together, Zlatan probably also getting a bit tired.

A draw will have to do here.

Would be fantastic if we could snatch the win here. As long as we can keep Rondon quiet I think we'll be alright.

Let's hope Pulis does the honourable thing and produces his best Steve Bruce impression.

Fellaini will start this one, I'm so sure of that.

    De Gea
    Valencia--Jones--Rojo--Blind
    Fellaini
    Herrera--Pogba
    Mata--Ibrahimovic--Martial

subs: Romero, Darmian, Fellaini, Carrick, Young, Rooney, Rashford

I wouldn't mind a 4-2-3-1 with Lingard, Mata, Martial behind Ibrahimovic.

Im worried at how we will break down their defensive shape. I 100% believe we would win if Miki was in the side as he creates so much space for our teammates that we would be able to break down West Broms shape far easier.

Carrick has to be given a rest.

    De Gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Blind
    Herrera Pogba
    Lingard Mata Martial

This will be much tougher than most people imagine. Wouldn't be surprised to see us drop points given how well they're playing.

Win this, and we'll be 3 or 4 points behind 4th.
That'll be huge. Close the gap to 3 points (maybe even 2 or 1) before Christmas and things won't look so bad after all. Absolutely imperative we win our remaining games now, which are all winnable except this one. Only won 1 of the last 4 visits here (3-0 win under Moyes).

Currently they've won 4, drawn 1 and lost 1 (narrow loss to Chelsea away) in the last 6, scoring 13 and conceding 5. It's not gonna be easy.

We'll win this 1-0. Will be tough but we'll just nick it.

Didn't Mourinho say back in the day that if he were an owner of a football club, he would hire Toni Pulis?

Anyway, as long as we don't give away many freekicks, we'll win, hopefully.

Big test of how far we have really come. They will be the toughest team to break down in the league, and away from home after a congested couple of weeks.

Would love for us to start with Morgan if Carrick is to be rested. Certainly a better option than Fellaini who I feel will be an easy free kick target for Pulis's West Brom. They'll be difficult to break down and we'll see plenty of possession. Can see it being a similar game to today but with Valencia and Martial to come in we will have more of a threat down the flanks than what we had against Palace.

Won't happen man, he's off to Everton.

This will be tough, I'm a bit worried that Carrick and Herrera might be doubts for this and we'll end up with Fellaini playing.

    Hoping for this though;

This game can prove to be pivotal. Winning this and who knows where we'll end up come January. We need to kick on now and extend our run. WBA is a very tough opponent especially at the Hawthorns.

Our latest trip there ended 1-0 (that game with the stupid Mata red) Correct me if I'm wrong.

I've gone for 0-0, would be absolutely chuffed to get the three points regardless of how poor the game is.

Will be a tough game. Draw wouldnt be the worst at all but getting a win would be potentially huge in any league hopes.

Our record against them is really hit and miss lately. Since Sir Alex left, we've won two, drawn one, and lost three. Salomon Rondon has found form at the wrong time for us, and the combination of Phillips and Brunt on the left looked very good against Swansea.
