Apparently not, he was ill and that took days out of him preparing to be fit.Maybe a bit weird but I'm actually worried about our defence more than our attack.
We seem to always somehow got conceded odd goals against this sort of opponent.Watford is a puzzling team - how they can be bottom of the table I still don't understand.
They've got fewer points than anyone else. Reckon that's the main reason.1-1.Yeah we are not winning, new manager bounce for Watford.
If new manager bounce worked, Watford, of all teams, would not be sitting where they are, being on their third full-time manager this year (plus one interim).
Does always seem to give a huge burst of adrenaline in the first one or two games. Can't explain it but it's pretty dramatic.
I think usually it's down to:
- If a manager is sacked it's often because of his tactic, his coaching and more importantly bad relationship with players. New manager means a change in tactic, in coaching, in the lineup and the relationship issue is gone. Other teams have almost no idea what is the new tactic nor the lineup to prepare before the match as well.
- If a manager is sacked the results must have been bad recently. This leads to low morale and bad atmosphere around the club. New manager often gives a boost in morale and somewhat a new hope, a fresh atmosphere.
- Players now have a new chance to prove themself, especially to the new manager.Last edited:I can't wait for this game! Hoping we keep the attack on! He seems to have a bit more about him going forward, and I suspect Watford will sit back and get number behind the ball. Shaw is almost useless in these types of games.
Lingard will start no doubt but he needs to produce. Our lack of effectiveness from that position is hindering us putting teams away. Our forwards are getting chances but they aren’t easy most of the time.
Another draw and we are back to where we were 3 weeks back.I would like to see Martial and Greenwood in the center with Rashford and James wide, Lingard, Perera and Mata has not worked so try something different.Would anyone start Martial from the bench today and give Greenwood the start upfront with Rashford and James?
