I’d have liked to have seen Matic alongside him though.

Probably because he didn't start alongside Mctominay and in front of a lindelof-bailly CB pairing? Mctominay is slow to move so may not always give Pogba a quick outlet for a pass. And when Pogba is made to dither, he does, at times, end up losing the ball.
But here's to hoping that it all goes well. Mctominay seems to be the kind of guy who would raise hi game for a final.
It's not about Spain but the fact that Villarreal aren't qualified for CL. If they miss out then that extra spot goes to 3rd placed team in the 5th best league (France in this case).No Fred? Madness.Good to see Maguire in the bench
