PSV to draw with CSKA which means that United will need a point to qualify. Wolfsburg to win 1-0 with us not creating anything noteworthy and so getting eliminated from the competition.

PSV will be ahead before half time and we will know we need a win to progress. We will keep playing for a 0-0.

LvG will start feeling the heat of a frying pan if we do not qualify to the next round. Unfortunately, I do not see us playing any better footy come Tuesday, will probably be worse than today due to fatigue. The most depressing thought is that Wolfsburg will have learnt their lesson and we will have no aces up in the sleeve to surprise them. They will play for a draw, and this will not be enough for us to qualify.

real crossroads of the season on Tuesday.

Today, we can make up for in the next league games, no such luxury to fall back on in this one.

    Europa would be a disaster

Will be interesting to see how the scores get predicted here. I'm definitely going with another 0-0 or a 1-0. I just can't see us scoring.

Jeez, it's a bit bleak in here isn't it?..

If we don't progress to the next round then LVG must win the title or automatically be let go IMO.

Winning this one may buy Louie some time from booing supporters but he clearly didn't foresee the usual. (injury plague)

Another tough and frustrating football night is strongest possibility or maybe someone will just shoot the ball into the net and remind everyone what's football about. We're pretty much that far from being a successful team to be honest.

Will be interesting to see if the need to win changes our approach. We can't rely on a draw, we will need to attack from the outset.

If we get knocked out here I can't see the fans taking too kindly to Van Gaal anytime soon. Very big game for him, arguably the biggest of his United career in terms of importance.

Wouldn't really surprise me if we managed a 1-0 win.

    Not likely though.

We are gonna smash them 0-5 to us. This game shall mark the change in fortunes of this club.

PSV will be ahead before half time and we will know we need a win to progress. We will keep playing for a 0-0.

Well, we will dominate possession, so will claim the moral victory. Would this be enough to appease the fans?

Looks like they played well enough to deserve a draw even though they lost to a free scoring Dortmund.

    Doesn't look good.

0-0 should just become a Meme at this point. "Whats the weather like in your neck of the woods, 0-0"

We will draw 1-1 and PSV will fail to beat CSKA so we'll go through.

    De Gea
    Varela--Smalling--Blind--Darmian
    Carrick
    Schweinsteiger--Fellaini
    Lingard--Martial--Memphis

subs: Romero, McNair, CBJ, Goss, Pereira, Young, Mata. I wanted to start Mata instead of Fellaini but our team is pretty short and Wolfsburg have a big side.

If no-one has returned from injury,

There is no way I can see us going for it from the outset. I think he will play it very cagey for entire first half with the sole objective of coming in at 0-0. He will then be able to assess the PSV game and plan from there.

Likelihood is he will throw the kitchen sink at Wolfsburg in last ten minutes, the game will end stalemate, PSV do the business and we go out.

A draw would suffice as long as PSV doesn't win which is totally possible, given that CSKA can still qualify for Europa League if they beat PSV.

We will lose this game and not score. A very comfortable victory for Wolfsburg who are a much better team than us. Carlo Ancelloti will be in charge of United by next weekend.
You're dreaming. Can't see us winning though.

If losing on Tuesday means a different manager by the weekend, I'd take that.

God you've got to be the worst poster on this site. You want United out of the CL just because you don't like the manager.

    Great fecking supporter you are.

I think it's Van Gaal's most important game so far. He values UCL very much and has absolutely astounding record in the competition.

This is also the first time he HAS to get the result, otherwise we're eliminated. It's different in this aspect to all the league games and he knows well the onus will be on that game from the wide spectrum of football fans as every neutral likes an odd surprise in the group stages. He must be one stressed out person right now.

I'd have voted for a 0-0 if it was at home, but it isn't, so it's likely to be a Wolfsburg win. The PSV game was as much a must-win game if not more and we drew blank at home, so I don't expect us to turn magically up for this one in Germany either.
