It was , particularly the calamity at the start of the 2nd half, but had we got that back to 3-3 when in the ascendancy, we would have been more likely to have taken the lead, or at least got to xtra time.

Their 4th came off a break away, against the run of play.

Until Amorim took over, our defence (based on goals conceded) was the joint 3rd best in the Premier league.
Under ETH, we just couldn’t create or take our chances and score goals.
Since Amorim has taken over, our defensive record has slipped, but in the league, we are still joint 3rd best for fewest goals conceded.

Shame we couldn’t make the comeback in the end, but think the players responded well even at 3-0 down, thought Martinez was poor today, Max wasn’t his usual self either at times.

We desperately need to sort out our left hand side of attack, feels like we have no one who’s willing to take someone on, Dalot seems to get into good positions but wastes them.

I just don't care about this result. I'd rather be as healthy as possible for the upcoming PL games. Recently, I heard Tom Rennie suggest that teams that are playing in European competitions should be exempted from the Moose Cup. I tend to agree with him.

I am pro-VAR but that would not have been overturned. But I heard there were a lot of weird stuff in the Arsenal-game the night before (didn't see it myself)

Garnacho looked off it again and seems rattled by the treatment he's getting from Amorim. Don't think he fits in the system anyway.

Antony is only an option for RWB and not a great one at that. Mazraoui should be seen as a RCB in this system. Was a fun game that showed a lot again. Onwards to sunday.

Yeah keeper was weak at the cross and VAR most likely would not have intervened anyway, cant fully rule it out though as its occasionally unpredicatable.

I was impressed with Ugarte. And Amad of course. And that was about it. Bruno was his wasteful worse. Antony !? Why ? Whoever sanctioned his deal should never be allowed near a football club again. But at least, We are out of that cup. Can concentrate on the League ( and Europe)

Antony in fairness wasn't too bad - a lot of our best attacks in the first half came from his crosses. But yes - of course he has been a huge waste of money,
