I had a random dream where Lloris got subbed off after around 2 minutes having made a huge mistake.

What about all the matches in our history we’ve won comfortably? Or the titles we won by a large margin? 3-0 & 4-0 cup final wins? Comfortable top 4 finishes? Great signings without any competition from rivals?
It's been so long since our league goal (either the title, or top four) was wrapped up comfortably, I can barely remember what it's like. That feeling of watching a game on a (now always) Sunday and being able to just relax into it, enjoy it for what it is. Maybe it's just me.

Win 4, draw 1. That's all we need from the next 8 to guarantee top four. I just have no faith we'll make it easy on ourselves. We'll see!

We might not but it’s quite frankly bullshit and hyperbole to say we never do things easy.

I feel like they will play out of their skin tonight after managerial change then revert to type for rest of season. Can see it ending in a draw which would be disappointing given the opponents but not a disaster given our away record against top half teams this season.

If Maguire plays, I can see us conceding 90 goals and being relegated to non-league football -- even if he plays for only a few seconds.

You've caught the general vibe of this thread quite well there.

Ryan Mason was a member of the staff as well though? It’s not as if the last manager couldn’t get a tune out of the squad previously, he had them playing better when Conte was absent than Conte did.
I just think if any other team were facing Spurs we wouldn’t be talking them up so much. It’s a squad that has clearly given up.

    I fervently hope you're right.

They have given up, you're right. But they've taken so much shit from all quarters following the 6-1 defeat at Newcastle that there's bound to be a reaction. Our boys better be ready for it, we've started too many games on the backfoot this season!

You'd think so but the team seems to be lacking character and leadership.

Hoping Bruno is able to play and ETH sticks with Lindelof & Shaw at CB. A win all but secures top 4 tonight minus a massive collapse in these final couple of games. So here’s hoping we get the win.

    De Gea

    AWB - Lindelof - Shaw - Dalot

    Sabitzer - Casemiro - B.Fernandes

    Antony - Martial - Rashford

Butland, Maguire, Malacia, Iqbal, Fred, Eriksen, Pellistri, Weghorst, Sancho

    Tottenham 1-2 Manchester United

This is going to be a tough watch tonight…..Spurs are definitely going to respond to the Newcastle debacle.

We are going to be under the kosh significantly - we need a very solid defensive display and have to take our chances when they come along.

    I’d take a draw now.

It’s a must win as I see it. Do Spurs and we’re completely done dusted for top and we can start rotating and experimenting to tee it all up perfectly for the FA Cup final. Lose this one and we’re still a good bet for top four but we’re grinding down to the finish.

Hopefully it's the same back 4 as Sunday. If so I think we will contain spurs quite well and be able to pick them off.

    Spurs 0 - 1 United (M Rashford)

If Lloris is in goal, hope we have a shoot on sight policy.

I already jinxed us thinking we will be good enough against Sevilla to beat them at their ground but, players decided to not show up with the help of gifting a first goal. But, still confident with this squad - we are not elite yet but, have a very good team when everyone turns (quite often has been the case), manager that knows what he wants them to do.

Play with some desire, not get beat on the 50-50s today and hope to all that is holy in football, ref doesn't single out Case and he can play his normal game

Got a goal early on and their heads will drop massively. Just hope we go into half time leading, don't want a cagey affair. Any win will do mind.

I thought that initially too, it is what teams do when they have been humiliated, then I remembered this is Spurs. I don't even mean that in a "lads, it's Spurs" kind of way, just that they have become so entrenched in their negative tactics over the last couple of years that I don't actually believe they know how to play on the front foot.

Anything but a win is unacceptable. We beat these even last season, and now it's a 6 pointer and they are beyond awful. Bruno must play. Too bad I won't be able to catch this one, too.

I suspect (much to the dismay of most here) that Ten Hag will go with Maguire because of Kane's aerial threat. I hope I'm proven wrong and Maguire never starts a game for us again.

If we win today, our chances to get the top 4 will be very very high. So a must win game

It's already 90% or so. Literally the only realistic team with a shot is Liverpool... Who have to win every single game to reach 71 and then hope United or Newcastle lose half of their remaining games.

If I was EtH, I'd play Lindelof and Shaw today and play Maguire on Sunday, assuming someone needs a rest.

Maguire is usually OK in the comfort of OT although I'd prefer he never plays for the club again.

Bruno, I just don't know. We'll have to trust the medical team on that one because the guy is apparently unbreakable

Maguire anywhere near this team we are getting slapped for sure. I'll rather have Shaw and Lindelöf as a pair, push Dalot into left back or bring in Malacia.
Slapped for sure? How many games have we lost with him starting this season? He's maybe not the best footballer in the world, but please sober up a bit.

It's rather opposite, isn't it? The home fans are not always that welcoming when it comes to Maguire. With Kane on the other half, I'd rather use Maguire is this match, and not at home where we would seek to dominate possession.

Bruno starting and Maguire on the bench where he belongs, fingers crossed.

What? In what world is playing away from home better for Maguire's composure?

    My captain.

it would be good to win it but i think we do need to keep momentum going until the end of the EPL season if we are to have a chance in the FA Cup final. I have seen teams before including Utd faf around and take their foot off the gas at this stage in the season and then when it comes to the big game they have difficulty get back up to speed. Sure a bit of rotation is needed but they need to keep the pressure on and really aim to finish 3rd. City will have no choice but to go full on until the end of the season and that could actually help them come the final.
