Drawing against 10 man Everton was their first game after Conte left and their caretaker manager had to quit last week. This Spurs side doesn’t do new manager bounce.

    Trust me.
When they play us, they'll demonstrate a new manager bounce, the likes of which they have never seen before.

I really hope we get the job done tomorrow. Honestly, it'll be quite something to lose to this Spurs side who are fecking shite.

We need 4 points from this and Villa. Don't care which way around it is.

Brighton away can be a bit of a free hit then.

Fairly obvious we are going to struggle in this match, spurs will have a one off puff of wind and then lose every other remaining game of the season. Had to be us.

They might have a reaction in them after what happened in the weekend or they will continue to crumble. I personally expect 6/6 vs Spurs and Villa. We are a better team than both of them.

Tottenham will come out as a wounded animal and I think we should forget about playing out from the back, at least the first 30 minutes. At the same time, we should put out a pressing monster ourselves to force them to play long and let Maguire deal with the long balls. We need fresh legs as well, so without Fernandes, I'd like to see this line-up, then bringing on Martial and Eriksen when Tottenham have run themselves empty (and maybe Sancho as well):

    ................... De Gea

    Bissaka - Maguire - Lindelöf - Shaw

    .... Sabitzer - Casemiro - Fred

    .. Antony - Weghorst - Rashford

Maguire anywhere near this team we are getting slapped for sure. I'll rather have Shaw and Lindelöf as a pair, push Dalot into left back or bring in Malacia.

It’s Spurs cup final, well it’s everyone’s cup final when they play us at home. Game raising cnuts will be up for it and if Maguire starts I think we will lose another away game against top half opposition. Bruno will once again be a huge miss, if out.

Anything less than a comfortable win and I'll be disappointed, despite our away record. Going to assume Bruno isn't fit and Maguire doesn't play, I wonder who will be captain DDG?

    My team would be:
    DDG
    AWB, Lindelof, Shaw, Dalot
    Casemiro, Fred
    Antony, Sabitzer, Rashford
    Martial

Feeling a bit jittery about this one. Spurs must surely know that this game is last chance saloon to avoid the rest of their season becoming a complete trainwreck. After the Newcastle game, ticket refund and Stellini sacking, this is the one where there's got to be a powerful response, if it doesn't happen here, why should it happen at all? And at their top level, this is a good team. Also, we have been so consistently poor away to top half competetion. We have literally zero points away to teams better than Fulham.

They're in such bad form and playing absolutely (Eric) dire football. But for some reason, I just think they'll pull a performance out tonight :(

3-3 with Southampton, 1-1 with Everton, 2-1 win vs. Brighton but everyone knows they got away with it a bit, 2-3 against Bournemouth, 6-1 to Newcastle...

If we can win, I think it's a huge statement. I just don't fancy us to 'do things the easy way'. If we beat Spurs and Villa I'd say top 4 is guaranteed, but we are just a team that always has to be slightly in the mix instead of pulling away.

They will be bang up for this. No way are they going to not have a reaction against United in front of their own fans after a shit show like that.

We have been garbage away from home of late so I don't think this is necessarily going to be the type of game some are expecting.

We should win the game, but....

Interesting to see what Spurs do. Do they come out and go guns blazing early and get the crowd on their side and risk getting caught the other way and losing an early goal? Or do they set up cautious and make sure to give nothing away and grow into it?

Big performances from De Gea, Cas, Rashford and the likes of Antony required imo.

A win here puts us in a really ridiculously good position.

Haha I get you, pretty much my take. We do nothing the easy way. I'd just like to get 4th wrapped up asap and get into the cup final as fresh as possible.

You know it'll go down to the wire haha

But why would they be up for this and not Newcastle after getting beat 3-2 by Bournemouth at home?

But why would they be up for this and not Newcastle after getting beat 3-2 by Bournemouth at home?

Or against Wolves after getting knocked out of the FA Cup by Sheffield United's second team. Or after Newcastle after getting outplayed for 90 minutes at Old Trafford.

A toxic Spurs with Ryan Mason back at the helm. I don't understand those saying a draw should be enough, we should be winning this.

But why would they be up for this and not Newcastle after getting beat 3-2 by Bournemouth at home?

I think mainly the manner of the twatting they got? West Ham have done it to us for fecking years. They could lose 36 games in a season and still play a cup final against us.

I could be wrong, often am! Just something tells me they will have some sort of reaction. Any Spurs fan I talk to disagrees with me as well haha. Say they expect nothing.

Players like Son/Kane are always going to be dangerous. We don't seem capable of controlling games...they will get their chances tonight imo.

I'd rather be wrong and be 3 up in 20 minutes of course. I disagree with folk saying a draw is a good result...the only good result here is a win.

Nothing much to worry about then.

Why are we always the latest game on? What is with 8.15 like?

    Absolutely crazy time.

Feck it I'll be watching Taskmaster from 9

True from one perspective. From another perspective, this is probably our most difficult remaining game in addition to Brighton away, so it's not like this is one we have to win.

Same same. Conte was sacked, but all of his people except his brother was still running the show. Hence, no new manager bounce.
Ryan Mason was a member of the staff as well though? It’s not as if the last manager couldn’t get a tune out of the squad previously, he had them playing better when Conte was absent than Conte did.
I just think if any other team were facing Spurs we wouldn’t be talking them up so much. It’s a squad that has clearly given up.

You'd think Mason wouldn't go with four at the back after Sunday's shitshow but he played 4-2-3-1 in all of the matches the last time he was interim. A back four with Porro and Perišić, please.

I’ve got a bad feeling about this game. Hopefully proven wrong tonight. One of those where they’re that shite they might get something and after the pasting they received from Newcastle they’ll be fighting for their own pride if nothing else.

We 100% lose tonight - not because of Mason or Sunday or any of that, but because we're Manchester United, and we never, NEVER make things easy on ourselves. It's part of the club's DNA, I swear.

You know Forster will play tonight like a prime Peter Schmeichel. Its always against us.

If Fernandes is fit to start that could be the difference between us winning or not. For all his faults as a player, we aren't capable of playing without him.

What about all the matches in our history we’ve won comfortably? Or the titles we won by a large margin? 3-0 & 4-0 cup final wins? Comfortable top 4 finishes? Great signings without any competition from rivals?
