To be fair, it was 6-3.
Hahaha.
Even 6-3 is something we should be embarrassed about.
To be fair, it was 6-3.
Drawing against 10 man Everton was their first game after Conte left and their caretaker manager had to quit last week. This Spurs side doesn’t do new manager bounce.
Tottenham will come out as a wounded animal and I think we should forget about playing out from the back, at least the first 30 minutes. At the same time, we should put out a pressing monster ourselves to force them to play long and let Maguire deal with the long balls. We need fresh legs as well, so without Fernandes, I'd like to see this line-up, then bringing on Martial and Eriksen when Tottenham have run themselves empty (and maybe Sancho as well):
................... De Gea
Bissaka - Maguire - Lindelöf - Shaw
.... Sabitzer - Casemiro - Fred
.. Antony - Weghorst - Rashford
I really hope we get the job done tomorrow. Honestly, it'll be quite something to lose to this Spurs side who are fecking shite.
They're in such bad form and playing absolutely (Eric) dire football. But for some reason, I just think they'll pull a performance out tonight
3-3 with Southampton, 1-1 with Everton, 2-1 win vs. Brighton but everyone knows they got away with it a bit, 2-3 against Bournemouth, 6-1 to Newcastle...
If we can win, I think it's a huge statement. I just don't fancy us to 'do things the easy way'. If we beat Spurs and Villa I'd say top 4 is guaranteed, but we are just a team that always has to be slightly in the mix instead of pulling away.
But why would they be up for this and not Newcastle after getting beat 3-2 by Bournemouth at home? They will be bang up for this. No way are they going to not have a reaction against United in front of their own fans after a shit show like that.
We have been garbage away from home of late so I don't think this is necessarily going to be the type of game some are expecting.
We should win the game, but....
Interesting to see what Spurs do. Do they come out and go guns blazing early and get the crowd on their side and risk getting caught the other way and losing an early goal? Or do they set up cautious and make sure to give nothing away and grow into it?
Big performances from De Gea, Cas, Rashford and the likes of Antony required imo.
A win here puts us in a really ridiculously good position.
But why would they be up for this and not Newcastle after getting beat 3-2 by Bournemouth at home?

Nothing much to worry about then. It’s Spurs cup final, well it’s everyone’s cup final when they play us at home. Game raising cnuts will be up for it and if Maguire starts I think we will lose another away game against top half opposition. Bruno will once again be a huge miss, if out.

A toxic Spurs with Ryan Mason back at the helm. I don't understand those saying a draw should be enough, we should be winning this.
Conte was sacked and then they drew with 10 men Everton?Because Stellini hadn't been sacked yet.

Are spurs have any absents ?
Ryan Mason was a member of the staff as well though? It’s not as if the last manager couldn’t get a tune out of the squad previously, he had them playing better when Conte was absent than Conte did.Same same. Conte was sacked, but all of his people except his brother was still running the show. Hence, no new manager bounce.
You'd think Mason wouldn't go with four at the back after Sunday's shitshow but he played 4-2-3-1 in all of the matches the last time he was interim. A back four with Porro and Perišić, please.
That would be some decision after the weekend...
We 100% lose tonight - not because of Mason or Sunday or any of that, but because we're Manchester United, and we never, NEVER make things easy on ourselves. It's part of the club's DNA, I swear.
