I quite like mctominay, but you swap.him for a vdb and it transforms that formation into something much more fluid

    Isn't it actually 3-5-2 ?

5 when defending. Suits Maguire form.

352 when attacking. AWB woeful at that. Defensive god, but once he's over that half center line its like he turns into a pumpkin.

Need more from that left side and Luke should get in a couple of crosses for Cavani and Ronaldo, god knows they score headers...

If we had a decent rwb, we would score shitload with this formation.

Donny for McT would help (never gonna happen in milion years)
Maybe some pace up top to play for the break? Ole will probably bring Rashy in minute 80.

It was an alright half, but I would still like our attacks not to rely on % crosses and hollywood balls from Bruno, which won't happen with Ole at the wheel.
McT has been brilliant. Lovely passing range on display.

A beautiful, classic Ronaldo goal, fair play. Might be the way for the future, make it as tight and as awkward for the other team and just have Ronaldo feeding on scraps and hope to win games that way.
What the hell is this. Do you guys not realize we have a top 3 team? Why should we settle for scraps?

Better balance to the side but although the fullbacks have been decent in that 45 minute snapshot this, for me, is why I wouldn’t want Conte, I don’t like wingback systems and they don’t suit United or the squad we have really.

AWB showing, like I’ve pointed out many times, that he’s not as bad going forward as people like to make out. Work on the crossing, but keep making the cut backs and the likes of Bruno should be arriving into the box late for those.

FIve at the back but still no DM is inviting a lot of pressure to the final third and still bad transitioning.

Much better defensively. Shoud definitely be playing 3 atb going forward (think I know a manager who is quite good with this system). Still suspect from set pieces. AWB and Fred were very good in 1st half. Bruno's assist and Ronaldo's goal were excellent. Cavani doing a good job pressing Spurs' cbs. Still not creating enough

A bit like watching two aging heavyweights, sure, but we’ve landed the first knockdown punch. Now, let’s go for the kill!

We’ve resembled an actual football team today!

I’m not AWB’s biggest fan but he’s played ok but got a hammering in this thread.
I feel like AWB always gets shit, even when he's doing well. I think he's been good today. He made one really poor cross across the box. Apart from that, he's been good.

I'm watching a feed that includes Jamie O'Hara and Michael Brown as pundits. Feels like a pound shop's pound shop.

    I'm totally with you.

I was starting to get down about our results and performances, I love solskjaer, but was doubting him and still am. But winning games is what it's about first and foremost.

Im ole out now, i don't think he can take us forward, but hoping we lose so he goes is so counter productive

We were meh, they were shite. Thankfully Ronaldo comes with the quality.

The formation is giving us a bit of shape and solidity at the expense of creativity. Not a classic but Ole won't care. The way this half has gone I don’t see us conceding second half.

It's total crisis mode at the moment. We need three points today at all cost.

If it works today and he sticks with it, he may look to add more creativity later.

Dont think i have ever seen Ronaldo look so gutted to score a goal.
    Dont blame him either.

Are we going to run the theory that Ronaldo hates Ole now because he didn’t celebrate as much as we’d have liked? Or he didn’t smile in the direction of the wind?

Why is McTominay getting so much abuse? He's been one of our better players.

Gash last week yes, but he's not played badly at all today. Wan-Bissaka has been quite good as well.

If you’d rather watch every team run riot through us then… To be fair Shaw and AWB have been two of our most progressive players so not sure how you can say it’s a back 7 either

    Homeschooled by a squirrel.

Edit: this was to say the person who thinks we have a back 7 were homeschooled by a squirrel, not you.

McT has been brilliant. Lovely passing range on display.
    Shirley you must me joking?
Did you watched the first half or are you just being a sheep?
Nah, he looks like an academy talent where you're hopeful he can develop, except the man's 24 and his "good" games always look like that. Had some very shit crosses and end product, like usual.

Didn't expect us to have the ball as much as we did, we're playing the system well but it's just not what the club is about... it feels wrong. Happy to be winning though, makes a change.

Luckily their goal was offside because had they gone ahead we would of had to change things almost certainly.

Set up nicely to get a Rashford or Sancho on and hit them on the break. Tottenham have been very poor.

We could also try a 343 with wingers.
