They were actually in a better position this time last year, whereas we are in a better position this year. So, we've improved and they've stagnated (wouldn't say regressed, it's been about the same).

In terms of equivalent fixtures Spurs are doing marginally better (1 point better) than last season, whereas United are doing marginally worse (1 point worse).

This is true and we all know which positions both clubs finished in.

I'm sure if you are aware of these issues as a poster on a Man Utd forum, the professional medical staff would have some idea about it as well. Don't worry.

Oh and that guy becklington is clearly on a massive wum.

It will be a tough game though.

You are correct in that I don't know all the facts, but I am not worried about what the medical staff know about an injury, I am worried about how much LVG could relay what they told him/ how much he is willing to tell us.
Again let's hope its a minor injury.

What point are you trying to make? You are below us in the table, that is all that matters you lunatic..

Thing I worry about this games that are close together around this period is the travelling! Playing yesterday and then travelling today and playing tomorrow, the players schedule is all over the place!

    DDG
    Jones Smalling Evans
    Rafael Carrick Rooney Young
    Mata
    RVP Falcao

we'll need the two fresh players, we'll also need players off the bench in case the energy and movement ain't right, so my subs would be: Valencia, James Wilson and hopefully one of Di Maria or Herrera is well enough for the bench.

    -----Jones------Blind-----Smalling----
    Di Maria---Carrick--Rooney----Young
    -----------------Mata------------------
    -------Falcao---------van Persie------

If Di Maria is back, otherwise Valencia there.

    What a completely irrelevant point.

United are third, Spurs are seventh. United have performed far better - as their goal difference indicates - and even they haven't been very comvincing which says more about Spurs. You are really not all there.

What point are you trying to make? You are below us in the table, that is all that matters you lunatic..

I can see that you're the type of poster who thinks that tossing around insults - "lunatic", "gormless prat" etc - makes you look good. You might want to re-think that notion

But to answer your question, I happen to think that comparing the results in equivalent fixtures can be a better guide mid-season than just looking at the league table. The former takes account of fixture difficulty so far, the latter doesn't.

I really would like to see 4 at the back but i am pretty sure LVG will go for 352 again. Spurs are on fire atm and will punish silly mistakes more than our last opponents. If we concede the first we will lose. IMO, best way to win would be a defensive display, focused on a 0-error defense. Spurs will get inpatient, make mistakes and Falcao/RVP/Rooney will do the rest.

Last season I predicted Spurs would finish above United. Of course that too was dismissed on here as crazy, stupid etc etc. But guess what ....

If you throw enough darts you'll eventually get the Bulls eye.

That did turn out to be correct but at the time was the ramblings of a mad man.

Just like if someone predicted that the new born baby Cristiano Ronaldo would grow up to become one of the best players ever and play for Man Utd and Real Madrid. That would be a bizarre prediction, and just because it turned out to be correct does not make the person any less insane.

A lot rides on this game this for both clubs. If Spurs win we close the gap to United to just 2 points and - depending on the results in the S'hampton v Chelsea and W.Ham v Arsenal games - could move into the top 4. If United win the gap grows to 8 points, which would be hard to bridge thereafter.

I wouldn't settle for a point in advance if offered.
But... but wouldn't it be effectively 9 points, you know, given our vastly superior goal difference and all?

    Good line.

It's certainly winnable, their form look good but I watched them couple of times and were quite lucky to win their games, They are not as dominant as I expected them before the start of the season. Poch definitely needs some time to build his own team.. I don't think there are only two players who can cause us damage it's Ericksen and Kane who is really good poacher and header of the ball and we don't look any steady on corners this year, hoping for SmallKing badly to be ready. But otherwise we have got a good chance. their defense is even worse than ours, with Fazio slower than Mertesacker, walker after a long time back, davies still a young guy settling in the side. We can cause damage with the three strikers and Mata. If Herrera is back we can already celebrate.. point would be quite disappointing for me..

we have been playing shit recently tbf, and have to admit we have been very lucky apart from the newcastle game. If Spurs are on form it will be an easy home win.
I'm guessing you haven't seen much of Spurs then because thats the definition of luck.

Careful with insults pal, why have you got such an agenda against glastonspur?

    Hmm maybe I went overboard.

I'll tell you what, if Spurs beat us tomorrow I will write a haiku with an apology to Glaston

Correct. Well done for accepting the notion that GD is not just an abstract fiction. Keep it up.

If your comment is any sort of proper "analogy", then an ice-lolly is not too dissimilar from Antarctica.

What a bizarre comment, are you okay?

Glastonbury can you predict the score tomorrow? I believe United will win 3-1 and it be fairly comfortable as I don't really rate Spurs this year.

Or you know, you can watch both teams play and then compare.

A win tomorrow would be massive!!!!!!

We would go 8 points away from Tottenham
Chelsea will probably beat Southampton and Arsenal & West Ham are playing against eachother
So we could really make a nice gap between the 3rd and 4th place

Seeing rafael back i am expecting a back 4.

    Rafael----Jones----Smalling----Young
    --------------Carrick----------------
    ----Valencia------------Rooney-----
    ---------------Mata----------------
    ------RVP----------------Falcao----

I doubt we will switch formation and our line up just because Rafael is back.

The 352 has been our main formation for the past month and it has been getting us results. Valencia has been playing well as well so I don't think LVG will play Rafael ahead of him seeing as he has only played 10mins in the past 2 months.

The only change we might see is Smalling for Mcnair.

I feel that Spurs will push on from a transitional season last season. They have a big and quality squad and i believe they will have a strong 2nd half to the season. The Yedlin RB addition looks useful too. Hoping Dembele doesnt play tomorrow.
I still think we have a chance to finish above them though when we get some of our injuries back and a more stability with the team.
Hilarious. Your post history is also hilarious.
    You're not fooling anyone lol.

I think we might even see Falcao for a complete match - i hope his withdrawal against Newcastle was to keep him fresh. I also think Rafa will get some more time as a sub if all's going to plan... hopefully a bit of Herrera too - Him buzzing around Mata should have Spuds' midfield seeing stars

If all goes to plan 0-2... if not then 2-3...
It would be interesting to know which clubs Spurs fans consider to be their main threat for a top 4 finish...?

I'm not a Spurs fan which is obvious by my name lol but their main rival for top 4 like always is Arsenal.

Southampton will continue to drop points like earlier because they are facing the good teams now.

West Ham are about to drop points like they did to Chelsea because their tough schedule of good teams has just begun.
