Loving the variety of old favorite songs from our away fans. One of the highlights of the game, sadly.

He is a nothing player sadly, doesnt do much wrong but not much particularly good as well.

Agree. Just wooden and I know he's a young lad but offers nothing. Everything he plays is sideways or 10 yards.

    Looking forward to the game.

Also I completely disagree that it's an unimportant trophy and we should focus on the PL instead. United is the biggest and most successful English club and that is because we have won more trophies then the rest - we have 66, Liverpool is second with 61. Our aim should always be to increase that distance and dominate every competition, here is the breakdown:

PL - we won it 20 times, Liverpool second with 18. Everyone else is far behind. We should always aim to win it, but we are quite comfortable here.

FA cup - we won it 12 times, Arsenal 13. Until couple years ago we were the number one club, but Arsenal overtook us. We should try to get into first spot again.

League cup - here we are lagging behind Liverpool - we won it 5 times, they did 8 times.

Europe - we are lagging behind Liverpool here too - CL (3 vs 5) EL (1 vs 3).

Other (Community shield, etc.) - we have 25 other trophies, Liverpool has 16, Arsenal 17.

I loved it when last year Liverpool's official website removed from their description the wording that they are the most successful club in England. That happened after we won the League cup. In other words, every trophy matters and we should try to be the most successful English club in every single competition.
    Game started 45 minutes ago.

btw, I agree with you, we should always go for every thophe!

Pretty pleased with the first 45. Swansea aren't really doing that much, and with a bit of concentration we'll get a couple more here.

Not sure why but, Rashford seems to make so many runs but, it seems none of our players are looking for it. Need to hit a few more in behind to stretch them even if they don't come off, at least we'll get some more room in between.

Half time. A bit meh, a bit so so. Martial is the only player that really stands out to me. Tuanzebe looks so cool at times.

Bar the goal it hasn’t been pretty but tonight’s just about getting to the next round with our key players unscathed.

Decent half and a nice goal. Hope Rashford is fine though he is a key player for us. Mctominay has done well. Fullbacks could do better and Lindelöf has sadly looked a bit shaky again.

Lindelof and Tuanzebe have looked a bit shaky, but we were in control throughout the first half. For a team B, it's a good performance.

Lindelöf is so poor. I don’t think he will last here. This is another Boulahrouz type of signing by Jose Mourinho.

As at Saturday, I was thinking it was just a blip or a bad day in the office. Tonight has confirmed the dude has no clue on how to defend.

He cannot tackle. Players go past him easily. When the ball is in the air, he’s afraid to go near it. At this stage, Darmian, Blind, Tuanzebe or even Carrick are better options as a centre-half.

Jose should send him on loan to Oldham.

Purists on this forum are gonna get to your throat for that comment. The reaction after Benfica match was almost like we had lost it

Positives - Herrera's bossing it against limited opposition, but it's good to see he still has even that in his locker after a poor couple of games; Tuanzebe looks the part and the front guys have caused a few problems, particularly Martial to Rangel.

Negaties - We could generally be a touch more clinical in the final third (as always) and we've looked a little shaky at the back. Blind had his one complete malfunction and Lindelof looks a mess to be honest.

The last pass from Herrera to Martial is a good proof of what you said, Rashford makes a good run inside the box but Herrera chooses Martial who is running away from the goal.

I remember this summer when people were posting their preferred starting XI for us. Bailly and Lindelof were undisputed starters as centre backs.

    Twas a simpler time.

You risk the chance of being called a glory hunter for all that glory talks

We lack that creative player who can spot an opening and play a killer pass. Someone who can dictate the tempo and orchestrate the play around him. Ozil?

Irks me all the time. Brainless passing

Generally speaking, no, we don't lack that creative player. We have Mkhitaryan, Mata and Pogba who are all capable of that. Our problems are atrocious ball tempo, terrible movement, and very little cohesion. Özil would be wholly ineffective in this team as it currently is. There would be no killer pass to spot.

Either way he offers nothing offensively.
Depends on what you mean by that. He doesn’t make the most incisive runs or have the most killer balls, but he has a far better understanding than, say, Valencia of what it means to have sole responsibility for a flank. He’s comfortable being ahead of the ball, which Valencia rarely seems willing to do.

I'm not against the guy but my word Lindelof looks like he never played football, let alone playing for Man.United ffs. For how long we will be buying players to give them a year or 2 to prove their selves? We should be buying big we should buy more high qualities than the likes of Lindelof, darmian, Blind,.......

It's not that players aren't looking for it, its just that it's difficult to pull off. If it's just a run without stretching the defense it doesn't really do much good
