This is the thing for me. We have not played anything approaching good football for a long, long time - and a lot of money has been spent by successive managers and yet we are not making any progress.
Meanwhile we are seeing more and more 'lower quality' teams managing to play attractive football and pick up results while doing so.
We are fundamentally a side without any identity, style, personality or leadership. I cannot remember the last time I actually enjoyed watching us play. Even in the past if we conceded, you felt there was always a chance we could get back in it. Nowadays we don't ever feel in it.
