    That's a tad optimistic.
     
    We can still win this man but our finishing has been shite all season to be honest. We waste far far too many simple chances
     
    fecking Smalling and Jones do my nut in. Zero composure under little pressure aka lump or head it forward to no one when they could have controlled it and passed. And when not lumping it they are always passing backwards. It alright to have one defender doing that but not both all the frigging time!

    Someone in mid needs to get some balls and dominate the centre of the park and Ibra should start shooting rather than trying to cut it across with in front of him is open bar the keeper.

    I'd give Mata the hook at halftime and get some pace on, like Martial or Rashford, as he doesn't look at the races at all.

    Agreed, just leave it as it is. There is a gulf in quality between the two teams and last 20 minutes it really started to show.
     
    Depressing to watch, how many chances do we need. We will score late but wont have enough time to win i bet

    Couldnt agree more. Its why we have dropped so many points. Especially at home.

    Away from home its criminal to miss open goals like Mata. It will take a miracle to get the 3 points now.

    We are doomed to dropping at least 2 points given the way we have played this year.
     
    I feel Mkhi and Zlatan are the only players here who can make Stoke cry. Stoke want it like this, been playing the way the should.
     
    Smalling on the right and Jones on the left isn't a good combination.

    At the moment Rojo/Jones is a better option
     
    Herrera's head seems to be more about what other people should do than what he supposed to do.

    We will still win this though, 3-1.
     
    I don't agree with all the calls to sub out Fellaini. He's actually been the one to look like doing something in that half. Herrera will stay on because of his work rate but he's been poor by his standards today. Mata really has cost us dearly, both with the goal and with the missed sitter.
     
    I prefer Rashford over Rooney.

    Let's gamble again and bring on Rash instead of Blind. Put Mkhi as attacking left back. Only worry is Rojo not there to help out today with his left foot so might be way too attacking.

    They must have seen the teamsheet with Mata and Fellaini on it and just targeted our right flank immediately. Absolute slug pace.
     
    Weird thing is normally Mata buries sitters. He's the one you would want that to fall to. And Zlatan needs to finish the one on one's himself, surprised he doesn't fancy his chances more than the rest of our players.
     
    After watching the replay, I'm not so sure Mata "lost his man". More like he just couldn't keep up. He even tried to hold Pieter's shirt to slow him down.

    Martial isn't on the bench, is he? I'm not sure.
     
    Why are some wanting Martial to come on? Not on the bench so won't be happening. Fecking awful match day thread yet again.
     
    Poor start but we grew into it. Shit goal to concede.
    Goal scoring is still a huge issue. Some of those chances really should have gone in.

    Yeah definitely. Hughes did his home work very quick after that, they knew it was easy to target us there.

    This, it hurts our attacking as a unit. Really hard to maintain pressure when the composure from the centre halves isn't there.
     
    Our finishing has left us in the league where we are. Them draws started at Stoke because of not taking our chances, we are not clinical. We make hard work of every game because of it. Regardless of the second half, we need to address this. As another poster has said, why are the opposition goalkeepers always having motm performances against us. We are definitely going in the right direction but this is beyond frustrating.

    Yeah Rash would be a good option down the left. We need some who is prepared to run at their fullbacks.
     
    why the pace of the game is so slow, our passing is so zombie-paced. Looks like we are playing a match in festive period. We did have 6 days after our last game right !
     
    If Ibra doesn't bag 2 goals he's getting a 3/10 from me. Hopefully he sees this and it motivates him.

    Partly because of the miss of Mata and partly because Zlatan is not decisive enough today (so far). We are getting there and I actually think that we have good control of the game, especially in the last 15-20 min or the half. If we sort the finishing out, we should be fine.
