    Once he puts in a long stretch of performances worthy of “the real thing” and not a few good moments over his first four games.

    Good goal, and I like the lad and he offers a great attitude with pace. But he is extremely inconsistent in games and very raw.

    Let’s not get ahead of ourselves because of the goal. Is last week a distance memory with his failed chance and some poor decision making across the match?

    While Mata is physically slow he is actually one of our quicker ball movers. He recognizes his pace and uses the ball to make up for it where he can. He is one of the few players I think who understands urgency and tempo in our squad.
     
    I didn't expect that scoring ability from James this year. He didn't score like that for Swansea

    I didn't say he was the real deal. So none of that "This place sometimes" stuff please! I just threw the question out. I agree he's very raw, and he'll need to develop his left foot because defenders will get wise to him quickly.
     
    Smalling might have jumped the gun. I’m one of Lindelofs biggest fans, but he has not started this season well.

    There is some value in the market. You just have to be good enough to find it. Excellent start for the young man.

    He has played in 4 games and scored in 3 of them. That’s pretty consistent.

    All wingers are inconsistent during games. It comes with their position.
