Why is Rooney getting booed?
Yea i agree but even if he shows desire to defend,he is bad at it and i mean really bad,if he faces towards his own goal while waiting for the ball on 30-40 yards,there is high chance he will be out muscled.Much better there.The formation is only part of the problem. It's players giving away possession cheaply in dangerous areas for ourselves which is the problem.That last spell of play there. Needed Carrick at the base of midfield dictating things not sitting at the back linethis is what i want to see!!!

I agree but this formation offers very few passes because most people are next to the player on the side or behind. It invites pressureLVG has embarrassed himself up against Koeman so far tonight, no doubt.
If 3 at the back doesn't work at Old Trafford against the likes of Swansea, it's not going to work in away grounds against high pressing sides.
