Really depends on Sabitzer being fit. If he can go tomorrow, I'd probably start Casemiro, Sabitzer, and Fred in the midfield, with the intention of bringing Casemiro off at halftime for Scot assuming we haven't conceded a goal.
Can imagine it will be a 2nd half appearance for Sabitzer on Thursday and then starting in place of Casemiro on Sunday.

I'd expect Varane will be rested but not sure will it be Maguire or Lindelof to come in.

Is it me or do we have lots of people ill alot? Maybe they just say "ill"

Antony ill again, Sancho has been several times. Sabitzer

Yeah, I've noticed that as well.

Quite a number of games in the last few months seems to see a different player missing because they're 'ill'.

Maybe "ill" is a vague catch all that Erik is using to hide if players are struggling with fitness or something? It's just odd. Can't recall so many players getting ill in the squad in recent years.

I'm not so sure about Varane, he's about to get two weeks off for the international break so he can probably play both matches this week.

It's been 6 days since we last dominated a game for 90 minutes

Southampton posed us all kinds of trouble even before we went a man down, we were lucky to come away with a point. Also unlucky with the refereeing decisions but still…

    I would like to see

    ..................... De Gea

    Dalot - Lindelöf - Martinez - Malacia

    ... McTominay - Casemiro - Fred

    ... Pellistri - Weghorst - Sancho

Sure feels like ill is a catch-all for 'they're not available but I don't and won't tell you why, so stop asking me'. Wasn't Antony 'ill' that one time he had that shocking car accident?

    De Gea
    AWB Maguire Lindelof Malacia
    Dalot McTominay Sabitzer Fred Shaw
    Weghorst

Go for 0-0. Rest Casemiro and Bruno.

“ill” could also refer to mental health. The term is so generic and I guess it protects players from unwanted scrutiny

Hope we get at least a goal in first half to kill this tie completely, so we can sub off important players in the second half. Let the reserves get some minutes. So strong XI in the first half for me. Don't want that Deportivo Milan stuff to occur because we're careless.

With Antony and Garnacho out, unless we play Bruno stupidly on the RW - then I hope this means Pellestri's bagged himself a start.

    DDG
    Dalot Lindelof Maguire Malacia
    Casemiro
    Mctominay Bruno
    Pellestri Weghorst Rashford

I'd like to see Bruno and Rashford getting a rest, but lets be honest that's not happening.

    De Gea
    AWB Maguire Lindelof Malacia
    Dalot McTominay Sabitzer Fred Shaw
    Weghorst

Go for 0-0. Rest Casemiro and Bruno.
Thing is all this does is invite pressure but with no outlet, we would lose handsomely with this 11.

I’d be rather surprised if ETH rests Bruno for the whole game. I’m guessing Bruno will play at least the first half (or 60 minutes).

EtH said yesterday that both Casemiro and Bruno will play despite being a booking away from suspension.

I mean in the first leg. If we're up by a few goals like. Lots of weak teams left so it's possible.

Then again if that was how EtH deals with things like this I'm sure Casemiro would've taken one last Thursday. And then there's this:

Casemiro could have done it, but it's not as easy as it used to be. UEFA has added an extra paragraph in the rules that, if you try to fool or provoke the referee into showing you a yellow card, you'll be suspended for two games instead of one.

I would sooner see us rest players v Fulham than for this.

Rest players in an FA Cup quarter final against a Premier League team, rather than a Europa game that we are already 3 goals up in?

He won’t do it, but we really should be starting with Shaw, Bruno and Rashford on the bench today.

Europa League does have a shitty anthem compared to Champions League. You would expect a mini version of CL anthem but no, it's just Tarzan going "oooweaoooo" over and over with a boring, non dramatic instruments playing. It sounds out of place. It shouldn't exist in football. That's the kind of music you'd expect to play during the rolling credit of a non famous action movie with bad actors.

It will be the strongest lineup available.

Hopefully we don't concede and please no injuries or suspensions.

Half hoping we go 4-3-3 and give it a try.

    Sancho - Rashford - Bruno
    McTominay - Casemiro - Sabitzer

    See if that works.

Its just started to look like we're a bit fecked mentally and physically of late. I would rather win everything but if I had to choose I would prioritise league and europa over the fa Cup personally. If we can get through in the fa Cup great, but I would still be rotating in that competition above the others.

Betis looked dangerous at OT before we stepped up a gear and I would rather not risk seeing a fast start in a hostile stadium see us get dumped out. If we are comfortable after half time bring off the big guns.

Yeah I'd go with the CL hymn but with altered lyrics.

Goalkeepers: David De Gea, Tom Heaton, Jack Butland.

Defenders: Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Midfielders: Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Scott McTominay, Marcel Sabitzer.

Forwards: Anthony Elanga, Facundo Pellistri, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Wout Weghorst.

    De Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Varane Martinez Shaw
    Casemiro
    Bruno Fred
    Pellistri Weghorst Rashford

Sub on Sabitzer, McTominay, Sancho, Malacia and one of Dalot/Lindelof/Maguire/Elanga most likely.

Against Fulham, it will probably be quite similar but Antony/Sancho in for Pellistri and Sabitzer for McTominay.

On that last bit, Casemiro is suspended for the Fulham game too

It will be a strong lineup no doubt even though the tie is pretty much over as a contest. Just hope we get through the game with no injuries or suspensions. Also final midweek game before the international break which imo has come at a good time as our performances since the final have been a little sketchy to say the least.
