Is Herrera becoming our version of Mikel?
Hopefully LVG will now realise that DiMaria does not play as a striker. Credit to him for changing things though.Hasn't he played about two games since he came back from injury and before that had loads of goals and assists?
Much better second half, change of formation worked, as did Fellaini and Wilson coming on so credit to LVG for those changes.

Van Gaal will continue to persist with 352, he will just switch to 442 when he deems it needed. It will eventually work. But it is clearly not working just yet.Three points and 4-4-2 is way to go. We may not take big possession in game at least attacking wise we looked way more fluid.
Because 'My captain SHALL always play'
The team will gel before end of season. We are already not conceeding as easily as last season. The rest will come naturally.

I've never seen Robben playing in that position for Holland.
Rooney playing in midfield when there's a midfielder playing as a striker is a bit fooking stupid to be fair, especially when both of them have been absolute dung.
I mean, Robben was one of the best players in the World Cup playing as a striker so it's not completely mad to think Di Maria could play a similar role. I don't think he should play there but he's not in great form and is just coming back from injury so those factors emphasise that it's an unfamiliar role for him.Hopefully LVG will now realise that DiMaria does not play as a striker. Didn't you watch the 2014 World Cup?I've never seen Robben playing in that position for Holland.

Ah ok, fair enough. Our play has been so awful, and the team seems so broken, that I'm finding it hard to celebrate the goal.
C'mon guys, Rooney plays when fit … always. Much better than RvP as Captain IMHO! He's not exactly being used in his optimum position. We need to agree on what the problem is and I don't think it's that we don't have the talent … it's how it's being used. SAF can't say anything, LvG goes against the press if he gets a whiff of dissent … think it's up to Giggs to speak up!Because 'My captain SHALL always play'
He probably just forgot what a chance looked like since it had been so long since we created any. Give him another match with those looks and he scores.Wouldn't call it a good game when he does'nt finish 2 clear cut chances and 2-3 half chances.
Because Van Gaal is an excellent tactician, time will show it here same as it done at his previous teams.Based on what ? Genuine question tbh, not trying to sound like a cnut or anything.

No way was he worse than our stupid defenders who have about 4 brain cells between the lot of them (except for Blind). He didn't have a good game though, even though he managed to get that very good ball to Valencia before the goal.Yeah, im not happy with that. Was probably our worst player today.
We'll have to buy another striker or two then because LVG doesn't see Rooney as one and RVP looks in decline. If Falcao keeps playing like he did today (and we stop the 352 crap), he will score goals and we should keep him.I like Falcao and want him do well for us. But my patience is running thin. You need to be ruthless in front of goal. His acceleration and agaility isn't quite there. His first touch in this game was an improvement. I hope he goes on a goal scoring run for the rest of the season but i hope we don't buy him.
