De Gea, Rafael, Smalling, Rojo, Shaw, Blind, Herrera, Di Maria, Mata, Rooney, Falcao. 1-3.

Very nervous about this. I genuinely have no idea what Van Gaal's game plan will be, although presumably it will be possession-driven.

QPR have the worst away record of any top flight side in the last 50 years - it's their home form that's keeping them in touch. I'll go for 1-2. Austin to score from the penalty spot after one of our lads clumsily bundles over one of their lads in the box. Rooney and Di Maria to save the day as a result of individual brilliance rather than clever team tactics.

If it's 3 at the back and we don't take 3 points, I will be concerned about the top 4 finish.

I have been confident all throughout the season but if we stick with it and lose, I think van Gaal has dug himself a huge hole.

Mata, our most inform player, doesn't deserve to be dropped for our most out of form player in Januzaj.
I think it brings better balance to the team. If we're starting with onle Falcao, I'd want Rooney in there over Mata. Januzaj, in that formation, would be a better fit and help stretch the game more imo

I really hope we win, if only to shut the feckin emos up for another week. The drama queens were sickening after Southampton game

So true. Those first two days were torture on here, couldn't get a post in.

    Desired lineup.

I avoided here and twitter and facebook like the plague

It was completely inexplicable that they shut us out.

This is a team that has only had 11 clean sheets in 21 games this season and conceded 15 goals which puts them as a paltry first in the goals conceded table. Imagine having difficulty breaking down that wet tissue paper defence.

    aggressive 352:

ddg, jones, smalling, rojo, valencia, fellaini, carrick, rooney, blind, diMaria, falcao

You would leave Blind out? :wenger:
He's great, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't drop Carrick right now. We could use Herrera's vision and Fellaini's height and physicality. Can't see whom Blind would come on for.

Maybe as a sub if Carrick isn't pulling his.

Some of the reaction was as if we had been battered by a team in the bottom 3.

    Would love to see this...

Im concerned about the arrows. What if di maria needs to turn right?

What if shaw needs to track back to defend?

QPR will be pleased to know some of our players can only go in one direction. Bloody LVG, hope he knows what he is doing

Play Rooney as a striker. Play di Maria in a midfield three. Play four at the back. Win.

I think LVG will go with this:

    De Gea
    Jones - Smalling - Rojo
    Valencia - Carrick - Blind - Shaw
    Mata
    Rooney - Di Maria

    Which obviously won't work.

Fair enough, I suppose Carrick's range of passing against teams that are likely to play compact is a bigger asset, whereas Blinds ability to find space and retain possession in tight spaces is a bigger asset against pressing teams, horses for courses.

I've waited all season for us to start a line-up without RVP with Rooney-Falcao up front and Di Maria, Herrera, Mata & Carrick/Blind in a diamond midfield. I hope we get to see this today, instead of that 3-5-2 nonsense.

No 352 please, they're a shit side and we should try to establish a more attacking minded lineup.

    DDG
    Rafael - Jones - Rojo - Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera ---- DiMaria
    Mata
    Rooney - Falcao

I can see the mental football forum posts having a good bump today regardless of score.

our approach will decide the game...

if it is a cautious 3-5-2 then this will give QPR a lift and make us more vunerable

    just attack these chumps

Absolute must win game, no excuses and definitely do draw, if we deserve to finish top 4 we have to win this game

I don't care how hard it is to play at lotus rd Qpr are dross and with the players we have we should be winning these with decent ease.

I really want Herrera to start, not holding out much hope though.

I don't think we will win this unless he changes tactics

    No 3 cb's against qpr
    Play Rooney up front
    Play di Maria in cm
    Play Herrera

Then we will get a result I think of we line up the exact same way we have then we will draw or lose
