When you switch to a back three and add Jones or Rojo, you are basically adding a player that will provide limited quality. There is no point to it, it's not as if you are going to be defensively better since defending is a team exercise and you reduced the amount of bodies in midfield.

One thing Utd have done well this season is limit the opportunities for the opposition to get our Cb's exposed one v one. Good team structure defensively, a major improvement on last season. Maguire exposed is vulnerable.
