If we get the first goal it's on IMO.

I have a bad feeling about this, I would take a lost by 1 in exchange for an injuries free game.

I just can’t see how are we able to turn this around with none of the midfield starters avaliable. Hopefully we give some fight and the score doesn’t end up to bad.

I'm sure PSG fans were feeling as worried coming into Old Trafford, having just lost to Lyon as well. Look how that turned out.

Ole''s confidence and attitude are exactly what we need to have any chance, regardless of the exact players on the pitch.

Why is everyone playing 5atb? That’s not attacking enough for me. We need goals.
We have just 2 attackers who aren't injured (Martial, Lingard, Mata and Sanchez are all out of the game). Now you might think going with 4 midfielders and our 2 attackers, but then you realize that actually we have only 3 midfielders available (with Pogba, Matic and Herrera being off). A 5-3-2 actually makes sense.

Some PSG complacency is essential. Any word on Herrera and Matic

I think PSG will hammer us.
They are a better team all around and we have loads of injuries + Pogba suspended, that can make this an ugly score.

We’ll start strong, probably come out flying but fail to score. The game will settle down and PSG grab a goal after half an hour, then the game is done.

At full strength I could see us surprising them, but as we stand now I think it would take an absolute miracle. It would require our greatest ever performance in Europe to progress from here.

I think we will go with:

    ............ DDG
    . Young Smalling Lindelof
    Dalot McTominay Fred Shaw
    ........... Pereira
    ..... Lukaku Rashford

It offers quite a lot of tactical flexibility to adapt to the game and worked well against Southampton. Maybe Young misses out for another recognised centre back - Rojo is best in a back three but only just coming back - or maybe Dalot does and Young is at wing back.

I really like this lineup given our options. One thing I will say for Ole, though, is that he finally has our personnel figured out. For all the complaints early on about bad tactics, I just think he didn't know what he had just yet. The last several matches show that he knows the cards in his hand and how to play them in the necessary situations. The mark of a good card player isn't getting the best hand every time, it's knowing how to play a bad one.

Anyone know roughly what the team should be?

I mean it'll most likely be

    DDG

    Young - Lindelof - Smalling - Shaw

    Fred --- McTominay
    Herrera

    Dalot ---- Lukaku ---- Rashford

Unless he throws in a different defender, thats the only combination of first teamers that we can actually put out.

    Pereira

I think we should go with 3 at the back. We seem to some leeway in the CB department and PSG did cut us open couple of times with ease.
    De Gea
    Bailly - Smalling - Lindelof
    Dalot - McTominay - Fred - Shaw
    Pereira
    Lukaku - Rashford

I think the same, but god damn this is a worrying line up to have against a team of PSG's quality. We could get thumped so badly.

    Absolutely.

Would play Dalot in Youngs place, not sure Herrera is fit, so would it be Pereira in a forward midfield role, similar to Lingards against Spurs, and bring Baillie into the back three, with Dalot and Shaw getting forward at every opportunity, Lukaku starting wide right and Rashford starting wide left, both cutting infield when we have the ball, staying out wide when we don't have it.

I would definitely play 3 at the back with Bailly at RCB, because Young got torn to shreds by ADM when we weren't even chasing the game so imagine now. Trying the same thing and expecting a different result seems non-nonsensical in this case. 3 CBs could track the diagonal runs of ADM, Draxler and Mbappe better.

Whether Dalot or Young should start at RW, well that's a bit of a toss up. I reckon both will get game time. One is more experienced but the other more unpredictable and more of a threat.

I didn't know Herrera wouldn't be there either, I mean as some say you never know what can happen but this is even worse than when PSG came to United with an injured team.

Between the suspension and injuries United is ravaged for this tie. I mean, miracles do happen but I think Mbappe will certainly score at least one goal and this will be the end of the run for United in the CL. I don't think there's much beyond a puncher's chance for such a limited United squad.

Can't help but think we'll get owned. They are a class above when it comes to moving the ball and controlling the game. The only way this game changes is with an early goal for us. We can hope.

    Martial definitely out?

I meant Pereira - not Herrera ... these are the pitfalls of having too people with similar names in your side.

But yeah, the question was what will the line-up likely be, rather then what I'd like to see... and Ole will almost certainly start Young at RB. Think it's a guarantee to be honest.

Is it true that you have 10 injured/unavailable players?

    Pogba suspended.

Sanchez, Matic, Herrera, Martial, Mata, Lingard, Valencia - almost certainly out

Jones, Darmian - not clear what the situation is, Jones was ill, Darmian been out injured for a while but apparently was training last week

Romero - missed last match for unknown reasons

Matic, Herrera, Martial, Mata, Sanchez, Lingard, Pogba who could start but aren't available.

Then you have Valencia who would be first choice last season but hasn't featured much this season. That's eight players.

Darmian, Jones and Rojo don't really count.

Anyone remember the EL final ref? That's who we have for this match. Damir Skomina.

Imagine if we manage to beat PSG away with a midfield 3 of Fred, McTominay and Pereira... Really would prove that Ole is a miracle worker! I'm not really expecting much, but I'm still excited for this, how can you not get excited for a big Champions League game!
McTominay to play simple and cut the balls with his physical presence, Fred to just link up simple, Pereira to do shots in the corner continuously... and yeah, why not?

I wouldnt mind baily and mctom playing in front of a back three.
I think baily could do a job as a defensive mid fielder with his speed and strength.
I used to like Rojo and wouldnt mind him playing in a back three. I cant remember how long hes been eligable to play but its seems like a couple of weeks now so I would assume he has some fitness back.
    Just saying.

    De Gea
    Bailly Smalling Lindelof
    Dalot Pereira McTominay Fred Shaw
    Lukaku Rashford
Martial is probably still out. This team just chooses itself.

I agree that this is the way to go. However, I don't see Solskjær playing Dalot ahead of Young, he seems to fancy the experience of Young. Solskjær has had success playing 343 with Molde, so I think we will see a lineup with 3 CBs this season.

As a right back, yes. But I think as a wing back, Ole might prefer Dalot especially after his performance in the last game. Young has also played 2 games in the last 6 days so might get rested for the Arsenal game.

just go for it from the start, nothing to lose. Often see managers try be in the game and make a late push. Go for it early, goal in first half and the nerves will kick in
