PSG are good at keeping the ball and I guess they will not take any unnecessary risks to let in an early goal. In that case, it's very much about our players being able to chase the ball and constantly press the ball holder.

It can give a small advantage to our young team who may both be able to run more and have a stronger will to push themselves to the extreme than the more established stars, both PSG's and our own. A little of what Ajax did with Madrid yesterday.

It must be allowed to hope for wonders and I trust Ole unleashes 11 optimists tonight.

I'm not an optimist, rather a realist. PSG have an even stronger squad than the previous game while our squad has gotten a lot worse. They beat us 0-2 then, they will beat us 2-0 now. Of course, I would love it if the team prove me wrong!

We can do this, just look at Ajax!
Thing is, if Ajax had Neres, Ziyech, De Jong, van de Beek, Schöne, Dolberg and de Wit all out injured or suspended, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have done it.

We have better depth than them but I know what you're saying.

Can't be optimistic but interested in some individual performances.

Cun(ey)t Cakir the ref tonight in the other game
No bicycle or any other kind of high flying kicks allowed tonight, then.

Ah, I got white texted. Well, guess Roma will have to deal with that.

Go through tonight and Ole is confirmed manager tomorrow.
If Ole guides the team to a win, scoring atleast 3 goals, against PSG away, with a second or third string lineup the club should consider getting him a statue right next to the holy trinity, nevermind a new contract offer.

Did anybody watch the Rio PSG BTsport programme last night?
    Very interesting.
If I remember right Buffon was saying we played into their hands with out pressing game as it gives them more space to do their thing. They find it harder when teams play more defensive and don’t give them that space.
I guess very similar to United teams of the past where opponents sat deep and we had to break them down.
To get a result I think we are going to have to adopt this approach and hit them on the counter at speed.
Who knows maybe we can then nick that important first goal. What do you think ?
Should this be our game plan?

The issue is that you need to take risks so a balanced approached would be recommended

We should not press that hard with the midfield we have anyway, it would be stupid.

We have to be realistic too although i always love our United winning and playing great football and tonight is a very tall order with all our injuries but we always harbour a glimmer of hope as strange things happen in football and each game has it's own story.

I'll be happy if the youngsters play a great game and hold their heads high.

I think we should go guns blazing in the first 20-30mins and try nick a goal. Then defend deep and try hit them on the break to cause an upset of extra time where anything can happen.

Small chances but we have nothing to lose. I'm gonna enjoy his game and hope our players do too. We're a work in progress and an exciting one under Ole at that.

I really hope United can make this game interesting. Would be shitty if it ends up as some formality.

Ajax fans were probably saying the same thing yesterday.

I'd far rather be playing the current Madrid with our best team that this. PSG are proper contenders.

If he does that they should rename the stadium.
No, according to some that’s when they should give him a 1 year contract with possibility of extension.

Tahith Chong vs Tiago Silva, McTominay vs Veratti, Dalot vs Mbappe. I feel confident in our win :) we have to believe )

    Indeed.
For me, to beat PSG will require a near miracle as our team simply are not good enough to live with them.
Solkjaer has done a great job, by going unbeaten with our current squad, but let's not get carried away here - man for man - we are not great and require big investment if we are to become a league winning team and a team which can compete against the best teams in EU.
With the Glazers, I do not expect any major investment. I think their aim is to keep top 4 - nothing more, nothing less. Just keep re-signing players like Jones, Young and Mata, who are not the players you want if you are trying to win the league title (or other big trophies).
In comparison, PSG signed up Neymar and Mbappe, in a single season.

Tahith Chong vs Tiago Silva, McTominay vs Veratti, Dalot vs Mbappe.

    Exactly.
It's like going to a gun fight, with a knife and expecting to win.

PSG are a fraudulent non-club with unlimited resources. I'm happy we are nothing like them. We'll do it our way, with kids from the youth teams and a couple of good players coming in.

The first goal is gonna be too important.

We need to be compact, i'm sure we'll have a chance to get one back in the first half. then it's really about getting the second and we can push with everything in the last 20 minutes.

If we manage to go to 0-2, the pressure will be on them and we can wait for them afterwards.

Believe people. Even if we'll put a C team tonight. This is football, anything can happen.

The positive thing as well tonight, is that we will see some of our youngsters, probably Greenwood and Chong since we need to score! so very excited about that!

We need luck today. You may score one goal even with poor performance - via a long shot, deflection or from occasional set piece. And if we somehow score, then anything is possible

Honestly the squad is just too thin on quality and full of players who haven't even played together consistently. Just looking for some decent
individual performances to build on for the rest of the season

I am sure that if you took 10 injured players out of City, even the Lord Pepus himself would struggle to put half a billion quids worth of players out on the pitch.

For normal teams, even those with our wealth, 10 players out is going to make any squad look thin.

I was at the game and said this at the time. It was so obvious, we pressed early and they made mistakes and Verratti looked really uncomfortable. For some reason we then sat back and all that changed, they looked comfortable and Verratti strolled around making easy passes. Can't have that tonight.

Out of interest, what did Rio say?
