Looks like we’re still struggling to get one past literally every team that sits back and let’s us play.. I’d like to say I’m surprised but it’s been the same under 4 different managers now

Are we still not fit? Ridiculous lack of energy in the last 10 minutes of that half.

That said, Malacia's lack of game awareness for the goal is genuinely next level. He clearly has no idea he's the last man, despite being the last man by about 20 yards. I have no idea whatsoever what he's doing there. Neither does he, in all likelihood.

I could care less about their goal though, what is killing me is that lack of focus after it. Eriksen, Fernandes, Casemiro, Ronaldo - these are big, senior players who apparently can't create tempo or maintain any momentum. Really worrying.

Malacia didn't handle it that well, as his first touch was poor and it allowed the defender to close in on him faster. It does annoy me that Sancho gets a free pass to make cowardly back passes all the time, especially to the one guy back with an opponent ready to sprint at him the second the ball comes to him. It's extremely predictable, which was why that Omonia player stood about 20 feet off Malacia and sprinted at him the second Sancho passed the ball back. It's just too predictable.

Bruno is a bum and the guy's always dodging criticism for offering nothing. Absolute Houdini out there that only pops up to give the ball away.

What has happened to Sancho? Plays every game and just meh. Generational talent? Nah. Not from what I’ve seen so far.

He's the embodiement of everything that is going wrong in England at the moment. They let a good spell get into their heads and then they stop showing any fighting spirit. The men are the total opposite of their female counterparts.

For that reason, I hope we stop buying English. Anyone born in England will have 1) to come through the Academy and 2) show that they deserve a spot time and time again. Make it harder in order to find cream in the crop.

i try to not overreact too much but man that casemiro money looking like a huge fecking waste. Especially considering he prob wont be getting any better as he gets even older.

We are cursed. Only Pep and possibly Klopp could come here under these circumstances and make us good.

Pep is an absolute front-runner, he only goes to clubs that have already been buying for him for 2-3 windows and were already loaded before and Klopp would fail here too. It's the curse of "Rock of Gibraltar" and won't be broken until the glazers are gone

But he was fantastic at Dortmund, it's not like we bought an unknown quantity like Amad who may or may not become good.

It's the same story all the time. We buy players who clearly have some talent and then they steadily regress during their time at United, and eventually they become deadwood. I don't know why it happens, but it does happen. The culture at the club must be rotten and it causes players to lose confidence, lose motivation, and eventually lose all interest.

Antony arguably had our biggest mistake, with not scoring when he was through on goal.

Malacia's is the single biggest for me.

If Antony had been passive all game and having loose, touches, dribbles etc then to judge him on that one sequence, I'd agree but you could see what he was doing even if the execution wasn't there. He has been trying to drive the team forward and has quite a few smart passes etc.

There are no killers in this team. Sancho is timid, Antony is being a nice guy - likely due to being new - but he should have scored instead of trying that pass.

In contrast Ronaldo at their age was ruthless. Rooney also had that fire. These guys we have now are all just too nice.

Just like last game. Our front 3 just dull, offer little threat, and no synergy between the three.

Pundits here are laying into Bruno, saying Bruno can't be part of a midfield and ETH will have to drop him eventually.

Hard to disagree, shame the British pundits don't pressure Bruno more over these type of terrible performances that are becoming more and more frequent.
They're too focused on his possible productivity without looking at the whole picture.

Malacia has been poor, bring sancho on. Sancho has been rubbish for a while, feels like at this moment, a waste of money. Bring Rashy on the left. Antony has been average, I dont want to compare to the fee as we all know that was stupid. Casimiro looks like he is in Cyprus for a holiday, has been a passenger. Bruno, how does he start all the time, needs to be subbed at half time, hopefully for Fred as we need more movement in the middle. Ronaldo has had no service but even his movement has been dire, but I guess that is because he dont expect a pass. We could change 11 players at half time, woeful, no passion, no end product. I at least expected a bit of drive after city, we cannot see it, they lopk casual. Sell them all.
This is a bit over the top. I agree regarding Malacia though. I thought Shaw should have started and definitely think he should come on now. Malacia works hard, but his passing is inaccurate and his choices often poor.

I also agree regarding Sancho. There was a time where Erickson was looking for an outlet pass on the wing to get out of our end and Sancho was standing up at midfield doing nothing so we lost possession. I wouldn't start him next game. But, this game we might want to leave him on. Amonia is putting so many people back and I think he has more chance of unlocking that kind of defence than Rashford.

The rest have been fine and should keep going. Bring Martial on at 60 minutes either for Ronaldo or Sancho.

Sancho and Bruno should both be facing the embarrassment of a half time substitution.

Even if we win this 2-1 and edge it, it would be embarrassing! Need to score at least 3 or 4, without conceding to redeem ourselves in any sort of way. Abysmal!

We all went into the season thinking Maguire was our biggest flop, turns out it was another Englishman Sancho is a bin man masquerading as a winger, VVD would love to play him every week just so he can say he hasn't been dribbled past

Nah, Sancho doesn't get a free pass and has been rightly criticised and also taken off.

What kind of messy score is this?

In any case, we need to figure this shit out because we need to stay in this competition!

I would have started Martial. No need for him to be on the bench. He's no longer injured and needs match fitness, plus he's more than likely to get a goal.

What does Sancho and Anthony actually do. 160 million plus for nothing. I could scout better wingers for 20 million.

Malacia, who I think has been good since we signed him, played one of the worst halves I've seen any top flight player play. Honestly looked like they just grabbed a guy off the street and played him at left back.

It amazes me our best player this season is one we got free and he has a pacemaker. We’ve got “generational talent” on the pitch and they ain’t half the player Erikson is…!

Rash on and no Martial? Wouldn't it be better to have the more creative player on?
