Put Amad in that team and we're winning this game, very good overall performance so far. Keep it up,, get Eriksen on for Cass and we can win this.

I feel that if we had players capable of beating a man and a proper striker our team would be instantly tranformed

Good 30 mins and drifted in the last 15 - the goal was a punch in the gut. Garnacho has been quite poor today, really frustrating but I'm also looking at Dorgu and expecting him to be a lot more front footed. Dalot is a bigger threat than he is so far.

One of Casemiro and Ugarte needs to come off and get a proper creative midfielder on...Eriksen
Or move Bruno down, add Højlund up front. Not expecting it to revolutionalize the game, but we need someone with legs in the midfield, or they’ll definately score another couple of goals on the counter.

We should genuinely consider punting the ball into our own net from kickoff - get conceding the softest goal possible out of the way early on.

Had no idea Forest were such shithouses too. Second half is going to be painful if they keep up the time wasting.

Decent half but doesn't mean much as we're losing.

Their defence stopped Garnacho every time so perhaps bringing Hojlund on instead of him and moving Zirkzee in Garnacho's position could be solution. Both Eriksen and Hojlund were warming up so perhaps both Garnacho and Zirkzee will be off in the 2nd half.

Garnacho just doesn't have any of the composure, technique or decision making to make it at the very top level.

His whole body seems to tense up when he gets the ball in a decent position. Every time he has half a sniff of goal, you can guarantee his next touch will be a landmine.
    Agree he's been dreadfull

We've been the much better side so no complaints on that front. Just need to take advantage of opportunities when they present themselves.

We've been alright tonight. Casemiro and garnacho been the weak links. Dorgu and dalotbcould also offer more.

Bruno today showing why he’s better in CM in this system. Better when he can dictate play from deep.

I think that's a fair assessment and I tend to agree. The issue is then who plays in the other 10 position. We're too short of attacking players who can influence the game.

Right now, I guess the best we can do is play Bruno next to either Casemiro or Ugarte, then put Zirkzee next to Garnacho, with Hojlund up top.

Close game to be fair. We can definitely get back into this second half.

I think we have been comfortably better, but mostly because they have been shit. Apart from that counter they have not done much.

We had some decent chances, but Garnacho dropping a stinker and no one being in the box is an issue again. Bruno is dropping deeper, and Zirkzee is also playing like usual. We really need some strikers.

Dalot has been fine I think. Dorgu is raw as hell though
He hasn't been fine at all, chucking in useless balls and not taking the chance to run at his man. On three, possibly four separate occasions, he just stood 10-15 yards off of Moreno or Neco and just chucked a hopeful ball into no one. It is just an obvious waste of what their defence has been willing to give us. There is no pace, no momentum, nothing for Forest to really think about.

Yates is man marking Bruno and he's not effective at the minute. Think we could drop him deeper especially as Forest have taken Danilo out and gone for 5 at the back.

Maybe Mount and Hojlund for one of Ugarte / Casemiro and Garnacho.

We haven’t actually played that badly, we’ve come undone by a great solo run by Elanga. We’ve done well in possession and managed to build quite a few attacks but just don’t have the quality to break down this Forest defence. I can imagine the 2nd half being similar and we need some luck to score here.

    Dorgu looked painfully slow
It was just Elanga's acceleration - Dorgu is quick but he's quite heavy from the look of him, bit bulky maybe, if you watch the goal the burst of pace at the start is what's really exceptional from Elanga.

Garnacho might still have a magic moment but I pray for better forwards at this club.

He plays with an uncanny freedom to be consistently (below) average.

How did we sell Elanga for peanuts and without a buy back clause, absolutely ridiculous that.

Still better than them two cloggers in the middle.

We're at 70% possession. The problem is no striker to score in the final 3rd, which is placing too much pressure on Garnacho and Bruno to create chances, most of which are failing. We could possibly try Hojlund at 9 and move Zirkzee out wide with Bruno moving to midfield. There are no ideal solutions here without a proper striker available.

And people want to tell me we don’t need at least two attacking players? We’ve had decent possession, worked our way into good areas, but haven’t really looked like hurting Forest - our attacking players just aren’t making things happen.

Zirkzee is a facilitator - great link-up play, but he needs runners.

Garnacho thrives on space - put him in a tight area, and more often than not, he loses the ball.

Bruno is our only real creative and goal-scoring threat, but I genuinely think he’s more effective deeper, where he can dictate play.

I’d bring Hojlund on for Casemiro, shifting Bruno deeper.

We've moved the ball about really well tonight and got into some really good positons, but there's such a lack of cutting edge up front.
    Garnacho has been terrible.

OK...I have flirted with saying it for a while because he's a young lad and I generally try to be positive but Garnacho is rubbish

We've been decent to be honest. Some nice play. Few chances, although nothing you would say we absolutely should have scored. Nottingham haven't offered much other than the odd counter through Elanga. He has caused us problems and fair play to him for the goal.

Would get Hojlund on for Casemiro or Ugarte in the second half.

How was that a good half of football? They allowed us all the possession because they are leading but we were slow and didn't create chances.

Dorgu shouldn't have been smoked by Elanga the way he was either. He looked a bit lackluster running back

Put Amad in that team and we're winning this game, very good overall performance so far. Keep it up,, get Eriksen on for Cass and we can win this.

I missed the first 30 so again, maybe we were great in the first 30, but we were dreadful in the last 20 minutes of that half. Felt like we're playing right into their strategy of time-wasting, frustration, petty fouls.

Onana’s dive doesn’t get any better the more you see it

I think Dorgu or Garnacho should have made a freekick on Elanga. Maybe Dorgu had his last red card on his mind.

Watching their goal (yet again thanks to TNT) Onanas left hip ends up where his left foot was when he dives with his weird technique

That goal was a disaster, the rest of the half has been good. Onana should save it imo , if he come out a yard more . We're they getting 85 mtrs in 9 seconds from ffs .

He's one of the worst players in the league for dribbling, he's just awful at it unfortunately.
Actually think he spent too much time with Rashford. It mostly the same way of dribbling, head down and then hope for the best. But at least he is trying to make use of space once it opens up. The rest of the team isn't doing that.

Think, we aren't terrible and the Forrest goal is a bit of weird one but I don't see us challenging Forrest at all. They look more assured moving the ball in tight spaces than we do. Elliot Anderson looks really good out there.

Osimhen for £70m suddenly looks a bargain

God what id give for a proper striker in this team

Agreed and it's plainly obvious, yet that must not be apparent to the most important persons observation being the manager. Gave him credit for finding that solution when the team was restricted due to injuries.

Now it's back to square one again.

To my mind it wasn't even about finding solutions. It's that he's broadly speaking our only talented midfielder. He needs to be on the ball. As a no10 in this system we don't have Ugarte or Casemiro finding him in dangerous places so he drops into midfield and now we are playing 3-5-2 instead instead 3-4-3. Two forwards against a back five isn't going to do it.

Bruno playing deeper finds Zirkzee on the half-turn in space or Garnacho running through etc. He picks out the overlapping fullbacks and he can still arrive on the edge of the box as we've seen him do multiple times in recent weeks.
