I'd have Dalot as LB, to prepare us for a return game in Sevilla.

Can't stress the importance of this game enough and why we should win this at all costs.

Agreed - a win today and we take a huge step towards top-4. I can't see us losing a 6 point lead with a game in hand to Spurs - esp as they are playing both Liverpool and Newcastle away

Forest have the joint lowest goals scored, joint 3rd most goals conceded and are 2nd bottom when looking at the form table for the last 10 games.

People are stressing as we are without Martinez and Varane but we should be beating Forest without them. It’s not as if we’re having 2 inexperienced reserve players in defence now.

What we’ve lost defensively hopefully will be made up with the return of a couple of midfielders, Eriksen and Casemiro.

Rashford or no Rashford, this should be a win.

Of course, when they have 11 players out, they wouldn't all have started the game. But imagine their bench.

Also, they have only taken 3 points from their last 9 games and are dropping rapidly on the table. I feel confident.
There’s quite a few out who would be starters. Bolly is a massive miss at CB. We started leaking goals when he got injured. Yates is the heartbeat of the midfield - the closest replacement is Danilo but he’s still learning. Finally no Niakhate means we have to play Worrall.

I think ETH will save AWB and Martial for midweek so I’m expecting Dalot and Weghorst to start.

Forest have got quite a few injuries and doubts too; we need to have a real go and not invite pressure with Maguire dicking about on the ball or giving Malacia passes where he has nowhere to go and players pressing him.

We’ll probably let you have the ball, defend deep and hit on the break - the one thing we do have is pace up front.

Exactly the sort of team who get fired up against us and who can make us look like chumps.

Villa and Bournemouth did us a couple of big favours yesterday.
Let’s not feck it up, because if we lose this and another, Villa will also be breathing down our necks for that top 4 place, games in hand or not.

The previous confidence I had in our play earlier in the season has gone. I’m nervous, but only because I think we should ease past Forest and capitalise on teams around us dropping points (something we rarely do it seems)

2–1 United but will be a tough watch I think

    Would like to see Pellistri.

With Bruno banned on Thursday, we’ll need Eriksen back, so he’ll need to get some minutes, coming on in the 2nd half.

Very likely but I hope Ten Hagg prioritises this game over Sevilla at the moment. Of both the away games, I think this is the tougher one. Results yesterday have given us a gift.
I think we can snatch and grab in Seville. Forest could beat us if we’re complacent today - especially with our defence.

After todays results this is a must win game.. no messing about please.

    De Gea
    AWB Maguire Lindelof Malacia
    Casemiro Bruno
    Antony Sabitzer Sancho
    Martial

Eriksen still doesn’t look fully up to speed so bring him on once hopefully the game is won. Brennan Johnson tore us a new one last time out, so slightly wary of that against Lindelof and Maguire.
ETH has more or less said Martial won’t be starting so it’ll be Wout up top

Yeah, after Newcastle and spurs both losing yesterday and playing each other next week it feels massive now, especially as we have a few tough fixtures left.

I can’t help but think ETH might remember WW having one of his better games for us in the league cup at Forest.

I like what I’ve seen of Johnson; it would be a shame for him to drop out the prem.

what’s the consensus amongst forest fans? It seems you’re in a bit of a free fall. Has Cooper got credit in the bank? From the outside looking in, he seems to change his team round an awful lot.

This is the premier league a.k.a. the greatest league in the world so anything could happen. It might be a giant killing or a routine victory. All will become clearer at roughly 6:30pm.

Bloody hell. Spurs lost to Bournemouth? Win today and 4th place is almost a certainty.

We turn into prime Derby when we go away for some reason. The NF players will be right up for this. We need our quality to get us through this. Only problem is Maguire -Lindelof partnership makes everyone jittery and it shows throughout the team.

Hope we don't get complacent and just grind it out. Any win will do but without any further injuries.

Must win game this since we didn’t beat Sevilla and may get knocked out of that. We need a top 4 finish.

I would rather see players like Bruno, Sabitzer or Sancho as false 9s ahead of Weghorst there.

Win at all costs. Don’t care how we do it or the performance, 3 points is all that matters today after both Newcastle & Spurs lost yesterday. Don’t know if both Shaw & McTominay are available (hopefully they are) but judging by our luck on the injury front probably not. Also going by ETH’s comments, looks likely Weghorst is going to start. Literally almost down to our bare bones with options in both defence and attack very limited so that’s why I’ll take any sort of win today.

    De Gea

    Wan-Bissaka - Lindelof - Maguire - Malacia

    Sabitzer - Casemiro - B.Fernandes

    Antony - Weghorst - Sancho

Butland, Dalot, Jurado, Williams, Fred, Eriksen, Pellistri, Elanga, Martial

    Nottingham Forest 1-2 Manchester United

We can’t even put Phil Jones or Tom Huddlestone (plays CB for the U23s) in the squad as cover as they’re not registered for the PL.

Who is he then? Anyone have any insight?

Right back. Seen him play a couple of times in the U18’s last season and looked a good young player from what I watched. Of course it’s a gigantic step up from youth/reserve football to 1st team football. He’ll most likely be on the bench.

19 year old right back we picked up from Real a few years ago. Same time we brought in Garnacho.

I quite like him although admittedly I only dip in and out of the youth team. Quite quick and good positional awareness. Has a few goals and assists this season in the reserves.
Okay well that’s good to know. Cheers, not a name I’m familiar with but to be fair I haven’t followed the reserve team in ages!
