Is FA Cup 5 subs as well?

No offence to Norwich...but it's only Norwich.

    ------------Romero------------
    Dalot-Bailly-Maguire-Williams
    -----McTominay-Andreas-----
    Greenwood-Mata------James
    -------------Ighalo-------------

Can't be going with a full strength team for this game as Uniteds next Premier League game is next Tuesday against a Brighton side that will be rested after a week/weekend off.

Mata,Ighalo, James, Bailly, Williams will likely be given starts and hopefully they have enough quality to get United into the semi finals.

Big squad rotation for this one

    ----------------------Romero----------------------
    Dalot------Bailley------Maguire----Williams
    ---------McTominay----Fred-----------------
    Mata-------------Pierera----------------James
    ---------------------Ighalo------------------------

Should be more than enough to get the job done vs Norwich with 10 changes from todays starting line up. Only the captain stays in there. Pogba and Rashford can get some time off the bench to keep working on their fitness. Rashford desperately needs a goal too...

    Romero
    Dalot Bailly Lindelof Williams
    McTominay Fred
    Greenwood Mata James
    Ighalo

Jesse shouldn't be near our squad.
Rather give game time to Chong if we in front and need some fresh leagues. Gomez if he has plans to commit. Andreas on as well. Should be more than enough to deal with them.

    ——————-Romero
    AWB--Lindelof--Maguire--Shaw
    ————McTominay--Fred
    —-Mata——-Pogba———James
    ———————-Ighalo

Rashford Bruno Greenwood On if needed.

Rest Martial completely. Focus his mind on the next game.

Rest every player we can - that game on tuesday against Brighton will be tough, and I prefer fresh legs in that one.

Romero - Williams, Maguire, Bailly, Dalot - Fred, McTominay, Mata - Lingard, James, Ighalo

And then we fill the bench with Pogba, Bruno, Martial and Fernandes if we need a goal

Id like to see a classic 4-4-2 and Id like to see Greenwood play with a number 9. I think he would do well there and I think Ighalo and Greenwood could form a good partnership. Also we need more players that can actually hit the back of the net. Dalot and Williams can attack and add width. Lingard and James to bring energy and pace. All of them can press. Mctominay and Fred to keep it solid. I think it looks good.

    ----------------------Romero----------------------
    Dalot------Bailley------Maguire----Williams
    Lingard---------McTominay----Fred-----------James
    -------------------Greenwood----------------
    ---------------------Ighalo------------------------

    Romero
    Dalot Bailly Maguire Williams
    McTominay Fred
    Greenwood Mata James
    Ighalo

It is tempting to put out a strong side to go for the cup and keep the momentum going, especially since this cup seems winnable. But the games are coming thick and fast in the PL, and we're one injury away from having our season unravel all over again, denying us CL and potentially setting our development and transfers back by another year. Bruno or Martial or AWB getting injured here could lead us to having neither Pogba nor Sancho in our squad next season. It's just too risky.

    Romero
    Dalot-Bailly-Lindelof-Williams
    McTominay-Fred
    Lingard-Mata-James
    Ighalo

    I’d rotate some.

    Romero
    Dalot - Bailly - Maguire - Williams
    McTominay - Fred
    Mata - Bruno - James
    Ighalo

I want to see some rotation, but not a weakened team. We have a chance at winning this cup, and players like Rashford need to get minutes to get back to match sharpness. Romero, Bailly, Williams, Fred, Mctominay, Ighalo should get minutes here too.

Norwich rested Buendia, Pukki and Cantwell against Everton.

They're going for this no doubt. Id say keep a solid defence and mix of key players / hungriest backups. Replace Bruno/Rashford at half time with Pogba/Martial and let Greenwood on when Norwich gets tired.

    Romero
    Wan B - Lindelof - Maguire - Williams
    Fred - McTominay
    Mata - Bruno - Rashford
    Ighalo

We have 4 games in 9 games coming up so, if we want to rotate, then we need our entire squad getting game time.
    Sweeping changes imo

Good chance to rotate a few players here and with the 5 subs we have a the chance to bring players on if we are chasing a goal. I'd try and hold a few back for the Brighton game as that looks a tougher fixture.

I know it is a long shout, could we start Mengi in defence?

No way should we be playing anything close to this. Play the strongest team.

Why risk an injury in a Cup game against the worst side left in the competition?

Even if we beat Norwich, there still Chelsea, City, Leicester and Arsenal (lmao) left in, so there's no guarantee we've got it in the bag. In contrast, achieving top 4 would be much easier than winning the cup.

Should still take this one very seriously IMO, but a few changes will have to be made.

De Gea/Romero is a 50/50. It isn't a case of dropping Dave, but more-so keeping Sergio sharp if there was an injury. I'd probably edge slightly towards Romero, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Ole use this to make a bit of a statement and keep de Gea in even though it doesn't really matter much IMO.

Ideally I want the same back four, but it could be the time to start Dalot, Williams, or Bailly. I don't want wholesale changes though so I'd say just one change and I'd rather it be Williams over Shaw and that's it. In midfield, I assume Fred will play as he sat out the whole Sheffield United game, maybe McTominay too but I think one of Pogba/Bruno should still start.

Up front, I'd expect James and Ighalo in, but Rashford to maybe retain his place and be subbed early if we're comfortable.

    Romero
    Wan-Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Williams
    McTominay Fred
    James Pogba Rashford
    Ighalo
    ---
Subs: Bailly, Dalot, Mata, Lingard, Chong

I think this should lead us to a comfortable 2/3-0 win given how poor Norwich look.

I do understand people wanting to make a lot of changes, but I'd still want a serious looking team and we can achieve that with five changes given our squad at the moment. This is aided massively by the 5 substitution rule (assuming it's in place for FA Cup) as we can make a few more changes but still bring it back if things go wrong. Or, in turn, we can start stronger but if we can storm ahead by a couple of goals before half time, we can afford to change players after an hour or even at half time if we want.

Probably will be something along those lines, maybe Mata for James, or Greenwood on the right with Iggy up front.

    I’d rather win the cup.

A cup always feels better than top 4.

But the financial aspect and player recruitment, we all know we need top 4 and a Champions League place.

I'd take 5th/6th if we won both cups. That would feel amazing.

I'd drop Lingard but other than that, that team can beat Norwich.

We need to rotate against smaller teams. We can bring on 5 subs to change the game if we need to.

    Should be comfortable.

I’d probably have Rashford and Pogba on the bench given the little football they’ve played even before lock down.

To play Devils advocate id like to see Rashford playing in to form as he hasn’t looked quite right yet - Spurs he was awful and played well last night but awful in front of goal.

Norwich are in awful form and we're flying high.

I think we should start our strongest line up and blow them away early, then can make some subs like we did against Sheffield.

Bruno will be having a field day with the space.

I didn't realise that - seems a bizarre move. I'd say they definitely have a better chance at staying up than winning the FA Cup.

Was surprised too. Should have given all in the league if you ask me. Instead lost 1-0 and looks doomed now
