Amrabat, Antony and Hojlund for McTominay, Rashford and Martial.

Same, except Amrabat for Bruno (will never happen, I know) and McTominay moving a bit forward.
We need to have an extra body in midfield who can shield the defense and is an outlet to pass to.

We need to have a bit more control. Control means chances and the opponents playing less in our danger zones.

Was always going to be a high intensity game. Starting martial and rashford was daft. One or the other but not both. I like rashford but my lord he has been appalling. He needs to sit on the bench for the next few weeks.

Not sure what the actual plan is, but it seems like we plan to throw Newcastle off their game by making it impossible to decide which way is the most promising way to attack. Left, Right, Centre.
    Brave, brave, brave Sir Erik.
    MEN…

    Onana

Shaky but made a standard stop. 5

    Wan-Bissaka

    Penned in. 5

    Maguire

Poorest half for a while. 5

    Shaw

United would be better off with Shaw at left-back. 5

    Dalot

Not covered himself in glory. 5

    McTominay

    Bypassed constantly. 5

    Mainoo

    Not involved enough. 6

    Rashford

    Poor again. 4

    Fernandes

    Ineffectual. 5

    Garnacho

Carried the attack and had a chance. 6

    Martial

Most energy he expended was going at Ten Hag. 4
    Their ratings are always bewildering.
Maguire has single-handedly kept us in the game, everyone else have been meh to dreadful.
    Mainoo has been good.

If Rashford comes out the tunnel for the second half half ETH is done as a manager here in my opinion. Hes not just bad, hes not even fecking trying and that cant stand

Not only will he come out but Onana will still be banging long balls out to the worst header of the ball on the pitch.

He should have been hauled off after 20 minutes.

That’s certainly one thing Martial lacks. Although he does have other qualities that Hojlund lacks but this isn’t the game for it, or hasn’t been yet anyway.
i fail to say what qualities you are talking about - he doesn't move, he doesn't seem to care and he most certainly doesn't bring on other players

Ten Hag is pretend hard. He often picks the wrong fights and is unfair in his targets. He should not be allowing the petulance we see from Rashford and Fernandes but he justifies it by doing nothing and even supporting them.

It's infuriating just how physically weak we are as a team. Only Maguire has won his battles. I can't blame Garnacho and Mainoo because of their age but what is Rashford's excuse of not even trying? McT doesn't do anything in attack and he's either too slow for Guimares or too weak for Joelinton in defense. Bruno and Mainoo are playing in both attack and defense here and that just leaves gaps. Shambolic organization.

What's even sadder is that Newcastle are pressing so high that 3-4 quality consecutive passes would allow us to easily launch attacks. But with Dalot, Onana, Maguire and AWB all being afraid of the ball under pressure, we have no way of doing it. We're resorting to hoofball again when none of the people up top can win a header.

It's all obvious but we haven't addressed it at all this season and we can't during the halftime break. Somehow we're level but this isn't sustainable and if we concede first I'm afraid we'll get beaten comprehensively again at an away ground.

nope, im calling rashfords performance disgusting. Thats what it is. When TNT and english guys like jenas are calling him criminal you know its bad. Im genuinely disgusted by what he's done this evening. the only rested player in the team too.
Totally agree, I’ll support any one of our players but when they clearly can’t be bothered to put any effort or thought into it thats were I draw the line. If you don’t want to be a football player retire !

Would love us to buck the trend and win this game. It would be poetic. Not going to happen though is it. Not looking forward to this second half at all

Everyone is sick of hearing it, but we really, really will do no good until the glazers are gone.

The company culture is set from the top, and they couldn;t give a toss about on field performance.

We are not an organization set up to succeed. We won;t be as long as a glazer sits at the top table.
You are probably right in terms of us making the right decisions e g. Hiring the right manager. But the glazers aren't making ten hag repeatedly play one central midfielder or players out of position at left back for no reason

Garnacho's looked threatening on the break. Shaw and Maguire have defended well. Overall though Newcastle are dominating and creating the most chances, which really shouldn't be a surprise. They're a better team than us. Not expecting anything from this game, but it will be a bonus if we do manage a point or more.

It's embarrassing how much Newcastle have been in the ascendancy and this coach just carries on with the same old.

No changes after that shite from half the team in the first half is pathetic.

No subs. Hopefully Rashford and Martial come off pretty soon in the 2nd then. There's no hope with how those 2 are playing today.

Antony to shut down their LB.
Hojlund to bully their defense and hold the ball up.
    Reguilon to LB.
    Amrabat in midfield.
    We smash 'em.
    please

If Rashford doesn't get hauled off today then he never will. He's completely useless in every conceivable way.

TNT suggest he's 'making a point' about not wanting to play on the right. Thats obviously just guesswork on their part, but there's always something hovering about him. Look at gordon for newcastle. His workrate compared to rashford (and martial) is miles and miles away. 375k a week.

The talk about footballers money gets overdone and wears thin, but how that man can look himself in the mirror when that money hits his bank account after that half is mind boggling.

Just saw the clips of Martial throwing his arms up and giving it back to ETH blaming others for his lack of work rate stopping a run.

Take him off to feck. He's a non entity.

Ten Hag is pretend hard. He often picks the wrong fights and is unfair in his targets. He should not be allowing the petulance we see from Rashford and Fernandes but he justifies it by doing nothing and even supporting them.

this is a new slant on things, never heard him referred to as pretend hard before, I wonder if CR7 or Sancho see it that way

    ffs

It really is something. Desperate for the plucky Saudi underdogs to score
See this is the issue when you DONT have a diverse set of people covering football (or any sport for that matter). McCoist has massive issues from mid week where it was borderline crimes against humanity when PSG dared to get a result against Newcastle midweek. It's a very small pool of talent(less) covering football for a number of networks across TV / Radio / Perm / Europe in the UK and US

Nearly ripping off my scalp with Rashford. How can an academy player from Manchester be so gutless? He’s a fecking disgrace.
