Guys we’ve got PSG, Chelsea, Leipzig. Arsenal and Everton over the next few weeks. If we aren’t going trust these players against Newcastle there’s no point having them.

To be fair Mata was really good the one game he played against Brighton so he's earned a starter slot. This is a good matchup for him.

I'm dissapointed Vdb isn't starting and disheartened by Maguire starting.. but other than that, good lineup.

I don't really get what is going on VDB but apart from that there's not much to complain about. I think Ole and the club are delusional about what Maguire is but at the same time it's not like any of the other options are any use. The weakness of the forward line does show again what a load of bollocks it is to think that Cavani's signing was anything other than a panic buy once the Sancho deal was dead, otherwise he would have been in place for the start of the season and certainly by now.

I think it's because he is more natural as an attacking midfielder, rather than a deeper lying midfield player, and currently Fernandes is occupying that spot.
