Keeping a clean sheet with Smalling and Phil 'Duncan Edwards' Jones would be brilliant achievement, these 2 are so brainless I can't think of a word to describe.

True, could have easily been 1-0 down because of Chris 'giraffe' Smalling. Can't wait for Bailly back.

Whatever image Mourinho is having of Pogba in his head, he's not that. Hate it when it's plain and simple to see 2 mid is not working and Mourinho trying to play that system again and again and again.

Brilliant pass from Matic...my question is why the feck is he up that far making that pass? That should of been Pogba...then Martial bottling the opportunity....ffs....we keep saying we need this player or that.....how many more players do we need before we look competent in attack?

Blaming the referee - the referee is never an issue when you play good football. fecks sake Jose get us playing some blinking football. Pogba, Sanchez, Martial, Lukaku - there's no excuse for this.

I don't think I will ever like the way Mourinho have us play. The entertainment value is lower than work nowadays.

I wouldn't take Lingard off, with Pogba in the state he is. His stamina and running might come useful later in the game when Newcastle players are tired.

I know little about tactics, but it certainly looks like we need another midfielder if Pogba is just going to stand off his man or let him run by him. But again this has been obvious for a while. We are limiting opportunities for our profligate attack by not securing the ball and building up better. Oh well.

Oh before I forget, they should continue to press Smalling, though I think every team in the Prem knows this now which is why they all do it..... worst I have seen on the ball.

I can't watch this, but sounds like we just simply aren't trying again. Anyone think the lack of a chance of getting title has effected our player's drive?
Not that that should be an excuse, we aren't that many points above 5th.

45 minutes of football and they only thought about playing it to Lukaku once. The "service" (if you can even call it that) is fecking terrible and that's being kind.

Martial and Lingard have been very poor in an attacking sense.

Our games are easily the most anti-climatic part of my week. All that excitement dissipates and you just want to fast forward to the result

This. We are second place in the league and have some bloody good players. Why is it that we look so shit? It's just not enjoyable. I don't understand it.

Today has nothing to do with that image. Pogba just doesn't want/is unable due to injury to play or even run.

Yup, Pogba again is in his world, another world to the one everyone else knows about.

Why does Souness get to commentate on every game United are a part of. I fecking loathe the man with a passion.

At least with Henry you get a balanced view.

Henry is a horrible pundit. Not biased, just sh**e. I don’t mind souness. Seems to have a bit of a problem with pogba. But with performances like today then Paul doesn’t do himself any favours.

Imagine if we actually had some kind of cohesive attacking system. What annoys me is the way Lukaku is always the scapegoat when he is a player who needs a proper system around him and proper service. We rely entirely on individual moments for Lukaku, that involves headers from hopeful crosses or holding off some shite defender to put it in. In big games he is all but useless because there is no cohesive structure to our attacks.

We are playing a rubbish team today as well but because they are actually organised by a decent manager we are struggling. Hopefully we get the win today but we need to work so much on creating some cohesion in our team - little partnerships all over the pitch are just non-existant. This is the biggest qualm I have with Jose. We are lightyears off Man City in that sense.

Lukaku is very good for you.
I don't understand why Martial is playing on the right, it steals all his qualities.

Martial didn't do a great deal wrong with his effort when through on goal to be fair, the keeper was well positioned and made a great stop.

Lukaku should have done better though. There's no finesse to his game, he simply blasts the ball as hard as he can.

Pogba not looking interested at all. In fact, he seems to be having his Mkhitaryan moment, going into hiding.

That is too much. He is not being a proper CM but he certainly isn't the steaming shite that Miki was.

I'd substitute Pogba for McTominay and Rashford for Lingard. But unfortunately our master tactician of a manager has decided we don't need a striker option on the bench.

Lots of attacking players on the pitch and Jose still can't get the attack to function.

We lack a coherent midfield. It just seems all over the place at present and hence 'service' is non existent.

Terrible tactics as usual, how long will it take before Sanchez becomes the next Mihki. Jose is determined to have this setup as his starting 11 and it doesn't work. Martial on the right, waste of time and talent, Jesse in the centre has done absolutely nothing and I am yet to see a team stand still so much as this Utd team. So slow and no movement.

Stat on sky says Pogba has done 14 sprints and the lowest of any outfield player. If he’s not fit, get him off and get McTominay on.

If he is fit, if still be tempted to get him off and get McTominay on.

Yes great stop by the keeper. De Gea'esque. Should be fined for plagiarism.

Bailly can't come back quickly enough. Smalling and Jones give me the jitters.

Pogba shouldn't be playing in a double-pivot but feck me, he doesn't help himself sometimes with his level of effort either. Looks completely uninterested half the time and playing in a second-gear in games that cry out for a player of his quality to grab by the scruff of the neck.

    INJURED!!!!!

I think the opposite to literally everything you said there.

    Opinions opinions.

Not getting the problem with Pogba he's in a deeper role and has put in a number of key passes that led to attacking opportunities. He shouldn't be in that role.
