Poor finishing again. Should be at least 1 up.
I like that we are creating.
    Bubbling nicely.
Lukaku actually playing as a proper lone striker, running, chasing, playing and holding up. Good so far

Remember it is always tough away.

If somebody who knew nothing about the premier league watched that half I think they would be hard pressed to say which team has basically championship player in the relegation zone and which is sitting second. Very strange half.

    Just a horrible disjointed mess.

The fullbacks need a special mention for offering absolutely nothing in an attacking sense.

Honerable mentions for the midfield for playing with their eyes closed and genrally having no idea what they are doing.

Lukaku and Sanchez decent the rest have been average. I’d take Lingard off for Carrick and push Pogba up behind Lukaku.

Frustrating half that. Lingard busy but back to his old self, giving it away or messing up attacks.

Martial has had a good half but my god he HAS to score that!

Lukaku's been doing well in hold up but just needs that extra sharpness back to his finishing.

Pogba looks semi injured but had a few good bits.

We feel so close to doing some special football, it's just not quite clicking yet.

Dafuq has this Dubravka dude come from? Very assured half from him.

We look lethargic and ponderous. This formation just does not work.

Sanchez our only bright spark, and provides industry to a team that lacks it in abundance; and even he's given the ball away a fair few times.

This is the 2nd time we've shoehorned Pogba, Martial, Lingard, Sanchez and Lukaku in the same team and it clearly doesn't work. We should bring Mata on in the 2nd half to add some control because the balance isn't there.

Shit half mostly. Sanchez good whenever we get it to him. Martial a few good moments, but mostly meh. Should've scored. Lukaku quiet, some good moments. Lingard awful IMO. Pogba barely involved. Matic and back 4 nothing special here either.

Again, the system of everyone together just isn't working. Needs mctominay on for lingard to control it more and push pogba up. Not sure if he is injured but he's been so slow out there. Maybe both Mata and mctominay on for lingard and pogba. Put Sanchez through the middle, martial left, Mata right.

Good header from Sanchez to Lukaku, maybe took him by surprise but we're getting in more now.

Martial has had a poor half but has still been involved. Very good save by the keeper. Pogba has been really poor though. He hasn't imposed himself on the game at all.

Yet another half of terrible football where we struggle to do even the basics right.

Poor half against a side we should be routinely thumping, really. Need to finish this second half.

Got used to sluggish 0-0 first halves now. Been a feature for a couple of years.

Need to seriously up the ante second half of game will just drift by.

Stuck some money on 0-0 about 10 mins in as just feels like one of those games.

Clean sheets are based on how the full 11 play not just the cb's. You call me clueless but you obviously don't watch the matches. Try going to Old Trafford once in a while, will do you good rather than being stuck sitting on Sqwaka.

I thought you said you're leaving this debate. You actually used the 'they've been liabilities for years' line as if its relevant in this conversation. I've been to OT before, several times, and attending a fvcking game doesn't make you more knowledgeable. Clean sheets are indeed not solely based on the performance of the CBs but it certainly shows they are doing their jobs well, especially as we have the most clean sheets in the league. Sorry, you can't take it away from them. Not only are you clueless, you also make pathetic assumptions.

That's a really bad half of football from Young, worst of the season for him. Pogba dilemma, take him off if he's injured, or keep him on because he's the only thing that can really link our defence and attack. Despite us not playing particularly well we could have easily have had a few goals.

Some of our players must be really embarrassed to be on the same pitch as Sanchez. It is incredible how poor their judgement and technical ability is whilst still playing for Utd.

We've not been that bad. Newcastle are showing a complete lack of ambition, that's what's making it difficult for us. This is where some people start getting frustrated by Mourinho. He'd rather sit patient and wait for Newcastle to expose themselves as the home team and others want us to go for it and pummel their goal for the next 45 minutes while leaving ourselves exposed at the back.

Smalling got away with that one, only question was in or outside the box, looked like it was on the line so should have been a penalty. Newcastle keeper looks decent.

we've been a bit slack with our passing. Some players need to sharpen up a bit, we should be ahead though, we've had the chances.

Nothing positive about this first half. Keep playing like this and we draw 0-0.
Keeping a clean sheet with Smalling and Phil 'Duncan Edwards' Jones would be brilliant achievement, these 2 are so brainless I can't think of a word to describe.

Sanchez has been good and Lukaku has done well. Pogba recovered after his non start.

The rest have been pretty shite.

Matic had a great pass to Martial but was getting caught in bad areas time and again. Young and Lingard have been disgraceful. No other word for it, Lingard really hurts the balance of the side too and should be taken off.

Martial’s end product has cost us at least two goals. Smalling, just lol at him

Pretty poor overall despite some good performances.

The number of stray passes that looked so casual is infuriating.

This ref is catastrophic - not for us, for both teams, he is always awful. The definition of inconsistent.

Started poorly but grew into the game later on. We should have scored.

If we keep on with this, shouldn't be hard to score.

Our defense is very shaky though.

    Not particularly good so far.

Pogba is clearly playing at 50% capacity. Whatever he did in the warm up is affecting him and he should be subbed. He can't even run at full speed at the moment.

I am still not convinced by Alexis on the left. I don't care if he did it for Arsenal, we don't play like Arsenal. He seems totally isolated at times and is barely in the game. Considering how much of the ball has come down our right it seems crazy to play Alexis left and Martial right.

Lukaku has been very, very good. His movement has been unrewarded by a very pedestrian midfield performance.

    PS) Poor miss by Martial.
PPS) Amazing how our centre backs crap the bed every time they've got the ball at their feet.

It’s the lack of composure that makes watching United such a draining task. I am constantly anxious when we have the ball as to who is going to feck it up with some ridiculous decision making or donkey play and 9/10 it happens.

Easily one of the worst sides we've faced this season and yet we are still struggling to score. Pogba is clearly injured, and was awful for most of the first part, but started playing better at the end of the half.

Also, there are som really awful referees in this league, but Pawson has to be the worst of them all. He's been awful for both us and Newcastle today. Really stupid challenge by Smalling that could have been a penalty on another day.

Pretty dreadful watch as usual. It's amazing how disjointed we are, there is no team cohesion what so ever, just a bunch of individuals out there.

Lukaku was really good, the best I've seen him play for us.

Apparently on the line is a penalty. Still think the initial contact was just before it though.
Initial contact doesn't matter if there's sustained or additional contact. A player that pulls someone's shirt and lets go inside the box should be penalised with a free kick, but one that starts pulling the shirt outside and keeps hold of the shirt inside the box should have a penalty awarded against him.
