This has definitely been one of our best halfs this year. Rashford's been very good, despite missing two big chances. The Boro-defense can't deal with him.

Ok Rashford has pace but he plays at number 9 ffs, he has to score. How many times he misses these easy chances he would be the one to blame if we draw.

Mkhi should be starting this game. Anyway, 1-0 isn't bad at half-time. Should score another one to put this game to bed. Btw, Fellaini has proven himself and I think he deserves to be at United as a sub.

Watching Fabio for Fellaini's goal and not missing that type of back post defending since the twins left. On saying that both were better than Darmain on the ball.

The kid played how many minutes as striker this season...but yea lunatics here having a proper go at lad...sad state of things.

Coming into the match day thread is like showing up at a party three hours late, only to find everyone already hammered and talking unintelligible bollocks.

    Summary:

    *Jones clearance*

Step 1: "Jones is our best CB, smalling makes me nervous."

    *Jones mistake*

Step 2: "Jones has always been shit, why is our best CB Bailly not in the middle?"

    *Bailly mistake*

Step 3: "Bailly's been shit for months, poor Smalling playing next to these two"

    *Smalling mistake*

Step 4: "Rojo is our best CB, why's he on the bench?"

Step 5: repeat and replace with Lingard, martial and Rashford or return directly to step 1.

Someone needs to tell Rashford that it is not always fine finishing, he can smash the ball into the net as well

I think Rashford has been superb. Just missing that little bit of luck and conviction with his end production.

Rashford needs to find his composure.. and fast. It's games like these where mourinho is analysing him, he will most certainly want to bring in another striker going by this season.

This has been a simple game, let brough have the ball, they are leaving huge spaces, we are capitalising.

Lingard and Rashford are having a field day against them.

We look more comfortable today than any 0-0 20 shots game.

    what?

They had at least two very good chances.

One was a brilliant save by De Gea.

That wasn't a gilt edge chance, he created some space for himself and hit a shot from about 18 yards. It wasn't a great save either, routine, if De Gea had let that in it would have been criminal goalkeeping as the shot wasn;t especially powerful and at a good height.

Rashford's two chance were much 'bigger' than that.

The second chance was just great reactions from Valdes, the first was identical to his City goal...except the keeper saved it this time. That's the difference between being lauded and not.

How does rash lose his killer instinct which came to him so naturally last season?

He seems to be second guessing himself way too often.

One Manager gave him huge confidence and played him in his natural position. Another has played him as a wide forward and placed him on the bench, while never rotating our main striker.

All about confidence. I'm not saying Jose is wrong to do it. It will improve Rashfords game in the long run to learn how to play wide forward but he's a far better striker and he should be rotating Zlatan significantly more than he has been doing.

They are struggling with our pace. I'd switch to 4 at the back, get Martial on the left to run at them and Rashford, Lingard and Mata will have even more space to get in behind.

Pretty happy with the first half. We gave Middlesbrough the ball too much in the first 15 minutes, but it has paid off as we figured them out and started to make chances. We've got in behind more in this game than most I can remember.

Smalling, Fellaini and Lingard have been the stand-out performers so far for me, along with Rashford but end product has let him down a bit. Hopefully he bags a goal.

Give him 2 seasons and I am sure you will change your opinion. The guy is on another level to strikers of his age in PL

I'm very excited. Hope he can get two goals in the second half and silence some of the ruthless posters ripping into him.

A 19 year old kid not scoring with every shot. How dare he.
The lad has got real quality the finishing will come with time.

Bailly is playing the more defensive full back.

But its definitely more four at the back rather than a five
Not so sure myself. Looks like a 3.

Hope I am wrong. And I hope we sell Phil Jones this summer he makes me nervous.

    13. The most number of consecutive passes we've had in their half, although half of them were back passes. Spending half a billion over few seasons and still can't string passes consistently

Although the goal came in 3 moves.

    Step 9: Blame referee/mourinho/pogba/Lingard

Step 178: Rojo mistake, Rojo is terrible, should never wear the shirt again, get rid, never rated him, woeful footballer, should be hung and quartered, we need two new CBs....

I feel they will come back into the game if we don't keep the same conviction as the first half. We have given teams the incentive this season by dropping off the gas and have paid for it numerous times. Get the second goal and get some subs on to control the game. Still feel our back four/three is jittery with any sort of pressure applied on us.

    He'll score his next chance.

And he's the best 19 year old striker in the world in my opinion. Patience.
Mbappé is 18, and IMO he's a class or two or maybe even three above Rashford.

he my well do that but he has to deliver when he gets the chance to start. Game should be over but for his misses

Laughable behaviour isn't it. I actually recently noticed that constantly checking the caf during a game makes me see the game in an awful and inaccurate light.

Have watched more games recently while only checking the caf at half time and the illogical hysteria is hilarious. The assessments are just plain wrong and so unnecessarily negative.
