No excuses for not getting themselves up for this - it’s a must win, and they need to show this from the off. Hopefully ETH has them all on a 20k run round Carrington tomorrow.

No excuses for dropping points from here, in my opinion.

We have yet to score 4 goals in a league match this season. What makes you think we're going to start now when our attack is looking more hapless than ever?

Maybe he thinks it will be a Weghorst masterclass. I’m going a scrappy 1-0

as long as he has at least 45 minutes in him id start garnacho. That way you can best bring him off when need be vs guessing when to bring him on and maybe waiting too long. Garnacho left, antony right, rash central, bruno behind them. Hopefully varane is back so we can shift shaw back to LB. Figure out someone at RB to actually push forward. Not sure on CMs but at this point it is case and either fred/erisken, neither of which make me happy thinking of. Prob would say eriksen to really go for the throat and get early goals.

We’ll be lucky if we score 2 the way our attacks performing. I’m saying a close 1-0 win.
    Yeah.

I think we need to do better than that if we’re going to drum up some momentum. Even 2-0 would give us a springboard. But I wouldn’t disagree that 1-0 is pretty likely.

    Yeah.

It’s worrying that if we score 1, we need to find 2 goals from somewhere. We use to be able to come back after conceding but we look out of ideas when attacking. Plus the way ETH wants to play it always leaves us defending with just 2 at the back, especially when chasing goals. We’re easy to counter against.

Because we are just absolute dire in front of goal right now 3 goals scored in the last 635 minutes played and 1 of the goals was Bruno hitting a long ball to Rashford who beat slow ass Dier 1 on 1 and the other was a Rashford shot that was blocked but Emiliano Martinez bungled it and luckily Bruno got there to tap it in.

and the defense (DDG included) definitely have been having multiple WTF moments. Honestly that probably should have been a 3-0 loss last night we'd be mad as hell if we had goal ruled out for how DDG went down and if a defender did what Lindelof did.

Our attack has suddenly become toothless. Concern is warranted, but I'm going off the belief that rest will do these players a world of good and that when they lace their boots six days after their last match that they will outscore the opponent.

I think we'll be ok for this one, it's the others i'm concerned about.
Yeah I think we’ll manage to win this, somehow. I have hunch we’ll do enough to beat Bournemouth. Chelsea and Fulham won’t be easy and I could see two draws there.

Aye, I know, crazy prediction. I just think the penny will drop. We've been pretty shite since the Cup win. Definitely fatigued, but we've also simply been bad. At home we've had a very good record and dreadful away. If we're going to be serious about clinching CL football this game is obviously a must-win and I think you'll see a very motivated team. Early goal obviously important. And we're due taking our chances. Even against a bogey team in matches that tend to be boring and have few goals. I'm sticking to the prediction. Garnacho to start.

    Controversial line up for me;

    Butland
    AWB Lindeloff Shaw Dalot
    Sabitzer Bruno
    Pellistri
    Antony Rashford Sancho

Time for DDG to be dropped, he has been poor last few games, maybe he needs a mental rest, 60 plus games is a lot.

I would drop Casimiro, has been really poor since he came back, does not deserve to start. I have Sabitzer at the back, I love his energy, Bruno tacks back, I dont like him as a 10, think he can be wasteful. Seeing him in Feb/Mar at CM, I thought wow, this guy could be brilliant here.

Pellistri at 10, I dont see him as a winger, his low centre of gravity makes him tricky, we do not use this boy enough.

I would start Garnacho if he was fit, but he needs to be weened back in. Give Sancho the first 55 and let Garncho do the last 35 mins. Rashford at top for me, I think on the left he is pathetic, or has been recently. He thinks he is Mbappe but actually has terrible ball control and cannot run with the ball without being predictable. A better option to Martial and Wout at 9. Hopefully a few from academy can take the place of some of the morons we have in the team: Fred, Maguire etc.

We can't afford not to win this. Liverpool will win their remaining 3.

    De Gea
    AWB - Lindelof - Shaw - Dalot
    Casemiro - Bruno
    Antony - Sabitzer - Garnacho
    Rashford

Need Shaw back at LB IMO, as good as he's been at CB. Maguire is more than good enough against Wolves' attackers (likely to be Costa?).

    De Gea

    Dalot
    Lindelof
    Maguire
    Shaw

    Casemiro
    Eriksen
    Bruno

    Antony
    Rashford
    Sancho

Maguire has to play. He’s up against the corpse of Costa who is only sometimes useful in the air

I do hope, and actually think that the seven day rest period will be key here. Get time for ETH, coaching staff and squad to have some time to really assess things, recover, and focus. Most of them are shattered. I think we will win, and win quite well.

That midfield would be disastrous. Sabitzer has absolutely no ability to play deeper, we'd completely concede that part of the pitch. Pellistri is a right winger, he has not shown any ability to receive the ball centrally in tight spaces and link attacks. Both are very lightweight.

I get that Casemiro has been shit recently, but I'd take a shit Case over this setup all day.

Technically we can afford to lose this but we'd be on the brink of finalising the bottle job if we don't.

Win this game and away to Bournemouth. Then Chelsea in Old Trafford to guarantee 4th place.
We could then be playing for 3rd place in last game against Fulham. Am I dreaming again.

Drop points here and I think top 4 is gone.
And every next game will be more and more nervous unless the scousers drop points which is highly unlikely considering their draw.

My prediction is: W D L W 5th place just behind the scousers. Reverse jinx attempt.

    Maybe technically.
But realistically no. As someone else has said, we should be looking to win all of the last games.

yeah if we lose this i dont see a way in which we dont drop a single point with the pressure that will have mounted. Chelsea prob will get their shit together enough to give us a draw. Or fulham last game will want payback for their meltdown. What would be amazing is a win and then a shock pool loss to damn near wrap it up ha.

I immediately put butland in the 11 after Sunday.

But We all know nothing will change, I've changed my prediction back to Dave in goal. Would like to see him get an app though. And it's needs to be shown that ddg can be dropped after his latest rick

It'll be one of those many, many, many, many, many, games we have where we will be winning by one goal in the last 15 mins and holding on for dear life

Whether we win or draw will be down to how well we defend during that inevitable late Wolves onslaught

    Yes indeed.

Are Wolves still the resilient hard to score against side? If the answer is yes then it will be a nervy game again.

Certainly needed the week rest coming into this game. Imagine having to play Juventus away this Thursday and what state United would be in for this Wolves game then..
