We will score at least 3.

    Just gimme this please

I'd play Memphis upfront with Mata, Herrera and Martial behind
Same. But Herrera is unlikely to make it.

If Rooney isn't dropped for this, he will never be dropped under this manager.

    Whole thread is embarrassing.

Good win to go back top.

It's embarrassing to think that United might not win a game - or that it might not be a very entertaining game?

Your embarrassement threshold is astonishingly low.

Can pereira play CM with a holding mid or is he more of an attacking mid?

I fully accept that. Despite that I do not want LVG to be sacked but that's a personal choice I agree. What boggles mind is how anyone could want us to lose given that this is such an important game for us just so that they see LVG sacked!
I just asked a question, most said they would rather win a game. I think you are making too much out of nothing.

If it means LVG is is sacked, would you want us to lose?

Hmm do I want us to lose games until a manager is sacked or win games when we're in the title race?

    Hard one that....

Reckon I'll take the title race.

His best position has always probably been a #8 with licence to roam around. A lot like Herrera, he's deceptively tenacious in his defending. But, again, like Herrera - free roaming players who seek to move with the ball and instigate tempo will find it difficult to find a position in this rigid side.

So putting him next to BFS but giving him the freedom to roam around the middle would work were we not asked to play so horribly?

I think that is has long been established that Rooney is undroppable.

Haha tbf its happened 4 times in the league already

    You are right.
But in those games, Martial was new and attempting to score goals.
These days, for whatever reason, he isn't scoring.

When we buy attacking players, in the first few weeks they actually do very well or at least look threatening.
As the weeks roll by, they are fully indoctrinated into the back/side passing system and then they can't score or even shoot.

Perhaps our players are told that they must make 40 passes before shooting - not sure.
I think Guardiola also has a similar rule in his teams. Something about making 10 passes (minimum) before attempting. I vaguely remember reading something like that.

So we have a hugely impressive 10 goals in the last 11 games but thankfully we are conceding very few especially at home. All points to a snore fest one nil win or lame 1-1, 0-0 draws.

Anything but a win here for me is not acceptable.

Will Rooney start yes, will he play shite, yes. Will we have 70% possession by full time, of course. Will the chorus of attack attack attack ring out around OT, I think it will. Will the Caf go into meltdown if we don't win, you bet it will. Unrelated - will Vardy score again, yes.

    Team I would play if fit;

De Gea, Darmian, Smalling, Jones, Blind, Schneiderlin, BFS, Herrera, Lingard, Memphis, Martial.

Just go with pace in attack and hope Lingard especially can improve his finishing. Have Herrera sat in front of the schmidfield pulling the strings.

I really doubt LvG will go with my team though.

There is no such rule. The only thing he says is that a team can only attack with a minimum of 15 passes from defence to attack. And for Pep, you can't have fewer passes than 15 to accomplish that.

Embarrassing and its variants are this season's in words on here.

If it means LVG is is sacked, would you want us to lose?

No but if it means some of our whiny and spoiled fans whose incessant and repetitive self-entitled moaning is more boring than any football we could ever play would feck off and go watch whoever the flavour of the month is, then yes, I hope we lose.

This is how I hope we'll line up:

    ---------------De Gea---------------
    Darmian-Smalling-Blind-Young----
    --Schweinsteiger-Schneiderlin-----
    -------------Lingard- Mata----------
    -----------Martial-Memphis---------

What i think is we'll probably see Rooney, Carrick and Rojo for Memphis, Schneiderlin and Mata

This is assuming Herrera will miss the game. I'd also be tempted to drop Darmian for McNair.

I expect the West Ham team to be:

    Adrian
    Jenkinson-Reid-Ogbonna-Cresswell
    Noble-Kouyate-Obiang
    Lanzini-Jelavic-Moses

We should be able to beat them. They will sit deep and play on the counter as expected. If we get an early goal I think we'll win it easily.

This game will be the turning point. With Rooney "injured" (van Gaal will tell in his presser), Depay and Martial will lead the attack and forming a new duo for years and bring back the Premier League trophy where it belongs.

    4-0 (Lingard, 2x Martial, Memphis)

Well they won in their away games vs City,Liverpool,Arsenal, maybe i missed someone,so i believe we gonna win this one.

I'm honestly praying but I believe this will happen. Rooney getting dropped and Herrera being fit is key.

I think realistically, the only way to bench Rooney (or to exclude him from the team), would be to say that he is "injured".
Hodgson did this in our England qualifiers. Rooney was fine to play for MUFC, but for due to his "injury", he could not play for England after/before he played games for MUFC.

BUT, I just can't see LVG dropping him. He is the best captain he has ever worked with and plays him without fail. I can't see this changing anytime soon.

    I'd like to see this;

    Dave
    Darmian - Smalling - Blind - Rojo
    Schweinsteiger
    Herrera - Morgan
    Mata
    Martial - Memphis

I really like the look of that line-up, but Darmian just inspires no confidence when going forward. In a home game we should be winning, I'd play Young at RB.

    --------- De Gea -------------
    Darmian--Mike--Blind---Young
    Herrera---Bastian----Schnedierlin
    Mata----- Martial--------Memphis

Well with the injury news we don't have much choice.

    De Gea
    Darmian-Smalling-Blind-Young
    Carrick-Schweinsteiger
    Lingard-Mata-Memphis
    Martial

subs: Romero, McNair, CBJ, Schneiderlin, Fellaini, Pereira, Rashford/Powell?

    Or

    De Gea
    Darmian-McNair-Smalling-Blind
    Schneiderlin-Schweinsteiger
    Mata - Young
    Martial-Memphis
