Whoever doesn’t blame Pogba for that are the ones with the agenda. I’d take a punch, let alone ball to the face if it meant I got paid week in week out to play for Manchester United when the stakes are so high.

He is world class but not exempt from blame.

“Content” is not what’s relevant. What’s relevant is whether a player deliberately uses his hands to impede the flight of the ball.

There’s no except in the Laws that I’m aware of for a ball screaming at 200mph at your head.

We could adopt a change to the Laws, but imagine the abuse this exception would create.

That is a valid discussion to have, it's not talked nearly about as much as sports like American Football, but there is a big concussion issue in football as well, but as you mentioned any changes in the laws of the game to protect the head of a player in such a situation will be rife with abuse.

Have defended pogba many times but that was a disgrace.

Get your head on it and take one for the team you fecking pussy!

Or at least five out the way if you don't wanna get hurt. Anything but what you actually just did!

The players need to wake up!

Top four gone if we don't win this. Got a feeling this will spur Chelsea on tonight.

Honestly if we don't get too four now and don't win Europa, Ole has to go. As much as I like him, it's been a failure if we dont get CL.

And he can take Lindelof, Maguire and pogba with him.

Its half time and look at this!

knee jerkers all over this forum.

Life isn’t the matrix my guy. That ball isn’t coming at you in slow motion. About “head it” have you ever played football?

just need to tilt your head down so it hits the crown of the head and not full in the face. even jumping up and turning your back is better than that. Not complicated stuff.

It was obviously a huge error from Pogba, but it was also a genuinely instinctive human reaction to a football being blasted towards his head at high speed. Looks horrible on the slow-mo replays of course.
Complete garbage. When do you ever see that from a player on a freekick?

I don’t understand how Pogba can’t put his head down and take it on the dome instead of sticking his hands up, idiot!

If anything this act of cowardice will show us what the squad thinks of Pogba. If they come out and show they're all together and want to make up for his "mistake", then we should win. Otherwise we're fecked

Natural reflex from Pogba to protect himself, but you just know the fake fans will be blaming him for everything under the sun after that.

Biggest half of the season coming up

Oh do one will you. That was the natural reflex of a pussy hole

Cant believe someone has actually said "What is Pogba meant to do take the ball in the face?" of course he is, what kind of question even is that? Not even him though, Lindelof and Maguire tried to duck out the way of it as well behind him.

Said it the last few games, Fernandes is out of form at the moment and without his magic we are back to having no imagination at all. Add to that how slow we are bringing the ball out of the back, especially with Lindelof who really doesnt know what to do with the ball, then it goes to Matic who as Neville rightly points out is taking far too many touches. West Ham have all the time in the world to assess there shape defensively.

And without the ball we have gone back to earlier in the season the last few games, first 10mins of high pressure, then it slips, its really only Fernandes doing any serious pressuring high up the pitch and it looks so easy to pass through our midfield and around the back.

Very laboured and sloppy performance with a lack of desire from most of our players, looking like they thought they could coast to victory with patient possession.

Also what is it with our keepers and penalties, only VDS was ever any good at saving them. Not criticising DeGea merely because of his recent performances but oh my he almost seems to lie down on penalties, has he saved any for us?

Ah, hoping for us to lose to see the manager fired. Feck off, yeah?
No, because i know that he is staying no matter what. And we will win this but not by 3 goals i guess. I was talking about hypothetical situation. Blessing in disguise and shit like that.

Its fine lads, the players will tweet a picture with the caption "We'll come back stronger next time (red heart etc)" on Insta and Twitter and it'll all be good.

fecking hope there's an onslaught in the second half.

It's a pen but for me it's also really understandable. Countless excellent players have had that happen to them, it's pure instinct. We're unlucky in as far as the shot was garbage.

But, given our PSG 'performance', kinda feels karmic!

Really can’t defend him. If you are in a wall defending a free kick you have to be willing to be willing to take a ball to the face.

I played football in Sunday league for most of my short career and if I used my hands or moved out of the way for that I’d have been beaten up at half time. Seriously you take that all day long for Christ Sake. It’ll give you a bloody nose, lip in the very worst case.. Seriously some soft people on here.

Given the way the previous few games have gone, fatigue, last minute goals, everything going against us in farcical nature...I don't see us getting back in to this.

I don't even want to watch this second half it's going to break me

Might be wrong but the only two times I can ever remember DDG saving a penalty was the Everton FA Cup semi final against Lukaku and the 8-2 Arsenal game against RVP.

When the opposition get a penalty, I just know it’s going to be a goal.

He saved another one against Everton in the league when we won 2-1 under LVG. Other than that yeah, I don't remember any other one.

Our players putting life and limb on the line for the team, hmmm. They're all ducking out of the way (or handballing it) ffs.

I do have serious concerns about this team's mental toughness :(

Let's refocus and try and get a draw here. feck having high expectations of having sexy wins. Gritty draws are where it's at :nervous:

The penalty’s a penalty, what has been frustrating is that United have been playing little flicks when attacking that are more in hope than expectation. The passing and movement has lost its crispness and control. There was a good moment when Fosu Mensah got in down the side, more of that would be good.

By the way, no more of this two-footed stuff about Greenwood, he has wonderful finishing ability with either foot but he is left-footed, West Ham are well drilled in watching him, and it’s working. When he cuts in, that’s where the full backs become so important creating the width and getting round the back.

People are idiots. The rules are idiotic. Protecting your fecking head, when taking footballs to the head has been linked to brain injuries and dementia, shouldn't be punished.

It’s repeated heading of the ball not a single blocked shot. If you are advocating heading going out of the game entirely then that is such a fundamental shift in how football is played. It would be unrecognisable. Just imagine a long ball forward or a bouncing ball without being able to head it.

Luckily, a draw and a win now means the same thing regarding our game vs Leicester. We're not scoring 4 here so we just need to not lose.

Sky presenter say's 'Hand's of Pog' and smile's?
A sihthouse in more ways than one!
