    De Gea
    Valencia--Bailly--Jones--Darmian
    Matic--Pogba
    Rashford--Mkhitaryan--Martial
    Lukaku

Personally I would like to see this very much. I would pray for Jose to start this way.

However, I think there is only 10% chance Jose would start this way.

If everyone hits top form, the front four + Pogba is not very far behind MSN/BBC.

Creativity from Pogba and Mkhi. Full of pace up front. Martial, and to a lesser extent Rashford & Mkhi, can all dribble. A pure #9 Lukaku. What more can you ask for. (except CR/Messi/Neymar/etc lol...)

That said, if we need more goal threat say like in 70min++, I am definitely not surprise Jose would play this way.

The sadist in me wants to see it happen but rationally it would be pretty bad if he gets in ahead of Martial or even Mata.

I know what you mean. I also would like to see it happen.
I actually think that given we are playing WHU, Fellaini will play. Not sure about Lingard, though.

Why the feck would you want to see that happen? To fit your agenda?

I think the sitting midfielder will only be used for tough games...not home games against the likes of West Ham.

Midfield shape will be slightly different.

    I predict:

    .............De Gea....................
    ............................................
    .......Jones.......Bailly............
    Valencia............................Darmian
    ............................................
    ......Herrera.......Pogba................
    ............................................
    ..............Miki......................
    ............................................
    Mata..............................Martial
    ..............Lukaku......................
    ............................................

You think we won't use Matic in every game? You couldn't be more wrong.

With Matic we are more likely to have an attacking setup with him sitting and Pogba and Herrera give licence to get forward.

It's about balance, not just squeezing attacking players into the XI.

No Matic? Even though he has been our best player in the two games he played.

Did you watch pre-season? We changed shape in midfield.

I really hope we come out intent to play and score a few goals. If we score first then sit back and invite them on to us I think I may cry.

Are we expecting West Ham in what formation? Any chance they're 3 at the back?

I wish Mourinho was brave enough to go for a 3-5-2 with Mhkitaryan in midfield, as he tried in a friendly.

Frustrating 1:1 where we fail to convert chances, seems to be the safest prediction.

Never like to face WH, they always raise their game against us, and with Hernandez having his debut for them you just know what will happen.

Going for a scrappy 2-1 to us.

Statement needed here. Rivals shit or shaky so far. City and Spurs are bound to wallop Brighton and Newcastle. We need to be on their side of the weekend, not Chelsea and Liverpool's.

Agreed. It's very important we get to a good start as our first few fixtures are winnable ones. I don't want to see us trying to play catch up later in the season and it's not really Mourinho's style either. When Mourinho teams have won the title in the past it's because they always get to a good start.

I think it will be a 1-1 draw based on nothing but a hunch. We will score a scrappy Lukaku goal early, then not threaten again and West Ham will score late on.

I'm honestly nervous for tomorrow. We should learn from what happened to Chelsea and Liverpool, no underestimating. Better win and take all our chances.

Looking forward to this, Chelsea and Liverpool dropping points is always good.
We have a chance to blow away last year's ridiculous home form early doors.

Hart, Zabaleta and Little Pea for them really spices things up too, though hopefully not in the wrong way for the latter!

Going to get the Lukaku 9 shirt, and hope it's a repeat of my Ibra purchase day, with him opening with 2 goals v Southampton last year. 2-0 I predict.

Hopefully the results today will make us more focused not less. Many times over the last couple of years we have failed to capitalise when we've had the chance. Not expecting fireworks tomorrow, a 1-0 would do me perfectly fine.

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Jones Darmian
    Matić
    Fellaini Pogba
    Rashford------------Martial
    Lukaku

Leaving out Herrera is a tough one but I think Fellaini should start.

So, after seeing us play last season, at very odd times (ie. almost never on a Saturday @ 3PM), we seem to be continuing that trend.
Our game will be the last game of all the league fixtures for the weekend.
I assume this is because of TV? Our games get the most viewers?

Not complaining after we played on Tuesday in Macedonia

I'm going to go for a 1-1 draw (unfortunately, we have not strengthened - but are merely treading water. Lukaku replaces Ibra. Matic replaces Carrick. Lindelof has started off really badly).
Basically, we are playing with last season's team and I do remember how bad our attack is.

I hope I am proved wrong.

    Good point.
But I assume that this trend of playing games out of sync with other teams will continue throughout the season.
Saturday @ 3PM is the perfect time to watch football.
