Those who are saying that West ham were shite, please.... they put in a decent performance, but United were on their game tonight. This team can win the league & go far in the CL

The pundits mentioned pogba and forwards as school kids running around with pace and energy and matic as their baby sitter who gives all the freedom to them.

Fantastic win and performance! 4-0 and we should have scored more. Totally bossing them and every player did great. Lukaku, Rashford and Mkhitariyan so good going forward and martial was fantastic when he came on as well. Pogba and Matic totally bossing the midfield. Only one that didn't play great was De gea since he didn't need to do anything.

But isn't it high time that Big Dave have a few matches like this, he has been called to duty a lot these past few seasons, he deserves a few matches like this.

Martial is deadly in the box, Had he attitude and fearless drive and off the ball runs like rashford he would be immense.

Miki surely made me eat my words in the second half there, he killed the match with that pin-point free kick for Lukaku. West Ham really had nothing to offer offensively (Matic was immense) but our CB duo was very solid when called upon.
Now I'm scared that we will need to find a replacement for Matic in the future. Him, Pogba, and Lukaku are the best players today.

As another poster said it does remind me of the performance against Fulham at the opening of the 06/07 season. Today was the best performance I've seen from United in a long time, just like the Fulham game was all those years ago

Stunning performance, season up and running. Will do wonders for confidence.
Everyone deserves a rating of at least 7.

Is this the best match post Fergie?

Can't think of any other besides maybe the Chelsea match late last season, and a few CL Qual/EL matches against some minnows, but this one has to be the best of the lot.
Liverpool at anfield was better, we dominated that day.

23 attempts. Though that might have been last season's total.
Think only 6 were on target, so we need to work the goalies more. We won't be coming up against Joe Hart and WHU every week. We have winnable games coming up, so get on a good run.

Brilliant and entertaining football. What a statement of intent!

Well, that was absolutely brilliant! Pogba motm for me but Matic was a really close 2nd. Frankly I just thought they formed an unstoppable midfield. Rashford and Martial when he came on looked lethal on the left wing due to their pace and directness. Lukaku's a goalscoring machine. The first 2 of many league goals to come. Jones and Bailly were great! Mkhi started poorly but grew into the game as it continued and was very good in 2nd half finishing with 2 assists. Can't wait til the next game! :D

Thank Chelsea for giving Mata mourinho matic and releasing lukaku from their team.:D

Imagine if they kept mourinho all of this would be there.

That was the most convincingly 'united' performance I've seen at home for too long. Hope we can build on that and do even better this season, lovely bloody football. Matic, Tony M, Rashers, Pogba, Bailly, Mkhi all standouts.

Pace, power and technique all over the pitch and on the bench. I'm going to love this team this season.

Caf standards: 7.9 Rating for Martial when he got a goal and an assist despite only being on for 10 mins  ?

I miss the fecking game (working) and come back to this unfamiliar frenzy of support and congratulation and, dare I say it, joy. What is happening? Where is United and what have you done with her? Does this mean I must rely for my fix of edge-of-seat, shoot-yourself-in-the-foot, rabidly poor decision making and herioic failure on the Irish women's rugby team?

The pundits mentioned pogba and forwards as school kids running around with pace and energy and matic as their baby sitter who gives all the freedom to them.
Yeah Robbie Earle said that. He is one of the better pundits Stateside unlike the absolute dross they have at ESPNFC. Them talking me makes my blood boil. Literally no one talks a bit of sense except for Craig Burley.

What a difference one player can make, you wouldn't credit it, but Matic for me, buy of this preseason!
We looked like we were 'in charge', his performance seem to inspire confidence in others, they always say the 'best player is one who makes others play' and today Matic did just that!

Wonderful display, putting the Real match behind them and getting on with what these players can do best ... great and entertaining football.
I know it's early days but the Matic addition is looking like brilliance ... signs of it pre-season but today's performance was not so much Matic, as Magic :D
Lukaku looks hungry, Pogba freed up to show up and show-off!
Everyone did well with only Blind a little short of his team mates calbre today ... happy days!

You've looked really good but West Ham have been terrible.
They were battered to look terrible. Did Hernandez get the ball once first half where he didn't get kicked? (and rightly so we have been too nice at times). We were bigger stronger and looked more at it. We won every 50/50. They had some chances and could of got 2 themselves. But we are a level above them currently.

Did every goal go past Hart's left side?
The first Lukaku goal went in on the right of Hart, off the post.

What a start to the season. We bashed them early and eventually when they finally got a foot in the game we got the goal which was a huge kick in the teeth to them. Second half again the early goal killed the game just as they started to look to compete really and they sank mentally. Again after an early slump they woke up mid half and tried thingsand ofcourse it opend up for us. Which has not happened so often last season and as if we need reminding we'd often get clawed back. But not today, today we were in no mood to be benevolent and we pushed on and got 2 more goals which we totally deserved and did not flatter us at all. I agree with Garry Nev that Hernandez was the only one of them that kept going and trying hard all day to get something. But he got little or no hlep except maybe from Nobel

As good as it was there is loads to be improved upon and its only one out of 6 and we, as fans, should demand 18 points from these first 6 because feck aiming for second place. So its off to the Swans to see if we can build on this. Personally be happy with a solid boring 1-0. Just look solid and be in controll all game.

Today I gotta tip the hat to, Matic Rashford Lukaku Martial Pogba Jones Mata(first half) Mkhi(second half) They all did well. But with tougher tests to come all we can do is keep winning. As i said earlier these are 6 very winable games and we need to be looking at 18 or at least 16 points if we are burry the slumber we have been in and get us back up where we belong.

I am delighted with todays game and im really struggling to keep a lid on it, the inner muppet wants to run wild. Lets hope he has ample oppertuinity this season.
